The EBT-Tool (0.99.11.3 / 11.01.2011)
Moderators: Fons, avij, Phaseolus
Time for a new version...
Changes:
- You are now warned if you're trying to close the program while there's still valid note data in the 'enter notes' form.
- The result window of the 'submit notes' process was increased to show the EBT-results of 25 notes at once.
- The hit browser finally displays comments in the route detail windows, too.
- The hit analysis is now based on the hitdata-CSV-export feature of the EBT-server. This has many advantages, the most significant one being the huge speed boost of the overall download process. All downloaded hitdata will still be saved to the 'hits' folder; however, the existing old data in this directory is now useless and can be (manually) deleted. To start the download/analyze process simply use the old 'analyze hits' button.
You see, I finally managed to implement the hitdata-export of the EBT-Server which replaces the unreliable old parsing mechanism. It should also solve the problems some people reported with the old hits analysis, is much faster, data is always consistant and it takes less space. I strongly recommend everyone to upgrade to the new version, especially since no one can guarantee that the old method will be supported by the EBT-server for all eternity.
The files from your current 'hits' directory can be safely deleted because nothing will be reused. Just keep the empty folder.

Hello folks,
Just few changes this time:
- New feature: Timestat labels are now clickable to allow better and more comfortable data mining.
- New feature: Stored forms with note data are now checked for consistency on startup. This prevents errors, but also allows you to easily transfer those files from one computer to another without having to edit the _options.ini file. Deactivate this option if you regularly have many many forms (tens of thousands) saved in the folder of the program.
- Bugfix: The EBT-Tool used to use relative path names for external files (maps, ini file), which caused weird problems for some users. This should be fixed now.
Originally I had planned to include more features in version .7, but I have very little time to work on the EBT-Tool at the moment. All the changes this time were implemented weeks ago, so it was about time that they see public light finally
Don't worry, I'll continue working on this program at some point in the future. At the moment I just have to dedicate my spare time between private life and EBT administration, which has clear priority over the EBT-Tool.

I know, I personally changed the download URL when designing the new site
Other parts won't work now, too, e.g. the auto-download of the hit CSV or the maps. Analyzing a newly exported CSV will show weird characters because the CSVs are encoded in Unicode now.
A new version of the EBT-Tool will be released soon. Unfortunately I'm very very busy at the moment so it'll be a few more days.

The new version is available:
- Due to the changes on the EBT site some functionality of the program was limited or broken (e.g. the automatic download of the CSV files and the maps). The EBT-Tool should work as expected again now.
- All missing countries and flags were added.
- Bugfix: Some exceptions are caught now when the hit CSV is being analyzed without the correct username setting.
