In the improved BBcode-section (Thanks for it, it's great!) the section headers are still untranslated. Of course, you can use the phrases that are used at several other places in the tool.
Edit: typo corrected

I don't know how to open a slovenian (or any other language except english) version of EBTST. Should that be automatic based on the language or how to activate it?

That is automaticly detected and cannot be changed.

here (in spanish)) so I had to increase the priority of my plans to encrypt the database. This was a significant change so I left it for some days in the development version waiting to see if someone was able to find any errors (a big thank you to the people using the dev version!). It seems to be stable, so I've just rolled it into the main version.
Please note: there's
nothing encrypted as I write this, but as soon as you upload new CSV files, your databases will be encrypted.
Additional changes are:
- Some planned internal changes in the bad notes management.
- Enhanced the BBCode output. Now it's easier to find a specific section.
- Fixed the next hit date calculation (
Crazy Bob). It used to add X days to the second hit date instead of the last one, so people whose last hit was a triple or beyond could see the error.
- Added slovenian translation. That stuff about the dual grammatical number is interesting…
- A user managed to receive some internal server errors by uploading a broken hits CSV (specifically, a truncated file). Improved the detection of bad hit CSV files.
- Notes per month/year are now reverse sorted (
tralla).
Given that the communication between browser and server is encrypted with SSL, there's a pretty high level of safety regarding your data. The only point where there are serial numbers in plain text is during the import procedure, where the server reads the CSV file you just uploaded and builds your database. After that, the file is removed and there's no way to recover it*.
Yippo: thanks for your comments! I've written them down for future evaluation.
tralla: regarding the table of contents, I have other plans (expandable/collapsable sections) so a ToC wouldn't be necessary.
gabonik: I don't understand what you mean with "meno anonima", could you please elaborate?
Montgomery Burns: "My city" under "Hit locations" is not where you're living, but the city where you entered that hit note. You can move but that doesn't change the fact that you entered notes in the former place

.
Regarding plates and signatures, they are indeed (periodically, manually) pulled from g.s.51's page.
[*] Technical info: it seems that my VPS provider doesn't allow the root user to perform low-level reads on the disk device, so not even a root compromise would allow the bad guys to recover the temporary unencrypted files.[/size]

numbers in a row in plaats van t
he same numbers in a row, daarom is het niemand opgevallen toen we aan het vertalen waren.
Bollivierke found a clumsy translation in the Dutch version. In the section
## nice_serials numbers in a row = cijfers op een rij should be
(the same) numbers in a row =
dezelfde cijfers op een rij
Most likely the problem has been caused by the fact that the original English version doesn't explicitely say
the same numbers in a row.

Surprise surprise, turns out that the language code sent in the HTTP header for slovenian is not "si" as I expected, but "sl". Already fixed (just a matter of renaming the file si.txt to sl.txt).
The wonderful thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from…

Hi,
I have a strange peak in my hit ratio graph. FYI: I had no notes entered days before and after that hit due to no internet access.

If the slovenian language should work now, it doesn't work on my computer.

Hi dserrano5,
it would be nice, if
https://dserrano5.es/ebt/ebtst/stats/ma ... etail.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; would count the notes and not only show percent.
For
https://dserrano5.es/ebt/ebtst/stats/ma ... bingo.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it would be great if in the missing combinations section shows all missing combinations (with missing signatures). So you could see with one view, that for example 10 U/M Trichet is missing
just an idea to improve the great EBTST

I'm not so sure if too much information in one single table makes things clearer.

Someone complained in the Dutch topic that for new users it is not clear that you have to upload your CSV.
Is it possible to put the following from the opening post here on the homepage of EBTST so new users can find it quickly?
And if it gets translated those who are not so good with English can use EBTST also easily.
dserrano5 wrote:
Usage
You don't have to download or install anything, EBTST lives
here and it's usable right now. Registration is needed, though, otherwise the program wouldn't be able to keep track of each users' data.
Upon registration, you are invited to upload your CSV files. Depending on their size and the speed of your connection, that might take a while. Hopefully there's a progress bar to inform you about it. When the upload ends, EBTST analyzes the CSVs searching for errors in the notes and figuring out which ECB president signed them, among other things. This "import" procedure has its own progress bar too. After that, you're directed to the "Information" section, which is pretty much the same as NIG's. From that point on, you can browse the sections at the left.
This is the "private" part of EBTST, only you can see it. For generating the public stats, you can use the "BBCode/HTML" link that is near the bottom of the sections listing. Check the boxes of the sections you want to publish and then click that link. When the process ends, a new window/tab will open containing the relevant BBCode (which you can copy/paste to the forum) and a link to the HTML stats, which will be of the form "https
://dserrano5.es/ebt/ebtst/stats/<your username>".
Beware, though, that any pop-up blocker that you may have installed will probably prevent EBTST from opening that window/tab. If that's the case, you'll have to allow pop-ups from dserrano5.es. Rest assured that I don't have plans to insert any kind of advertisement in the program

. Related to this is the need of having javascript enabled in order to the progress bars to work, so any javascript blocker you may have installed (e.g. NoScript) has to be configured to allow javascript from dserrano5.es.
Highlights
EBTST is open source

. There's a
github repository with the source code, which you can download and use on your own if you like.
Lowlights
Several sections feature a couple of Unicode characters that may not show correctly in your browser (some test users reported that they were unable to see them). If there's a significant fraction of users with problems, I might change them. They are:
- U+2714 (HEAVY CHECK MARK, ✔)
- U+00D7 (MULTIPLICATION SIGN, ×)
- U+2192 (RIGHTWARDS ARROW, →)
- U+2194 (LEFT RIGHT ARROW, ↔)
Notes which have been found more than twice (triple hits and beyond) have been poorly tested. Things might break regarding those.
Users with more than 5000 hits may notice a delay at the end of the "import" procedure (you know, the progress bar reaches 95% and then seems to stop there

). I will fix this but in the meanwhile, please be patient. A minute or two should be enough to let the process end.
The login and register forms don't have any kind of error reporting ("bad user/password", "invalid user", "already existing user" and so on). Needless to say I will correct this too.
EBTST could be faster but it's installed on a machine with no more than 4 Gb RAM so I had to sacrifice some speed to keep the memory usage low. Power users will see that their operations are somewhat slow, but this is all I can do. I tested with 1.9 millons of notes.

Yes, it probably makes sense to change the first paragraph in the help section into these three:

I think that's fine. If there are no more comments I will start the translation for Dutch.
