I used to be a big smoker (35-40 cigarettes a day)
And as most of smokers, I remember precisely the day I stopped smoking : this was on April 19, 1999.
I enjoy my life as a non-smoker nowaday...
There is only one detail : I only allow myself a little smoke when I am on bussiness trip in the Netherlands... But, then, there is no tobacco... Because that's no good for the health !

much though). According to me smoking is the same as drinking too much
beer and then puking it over other people, because with smoking you are
bothering other people with the smoke you breathe out.
So nodisch18, stop smoking and start drinking!
In italy is forbiddento smoke inside EVERYWHERE!pubs, discos, pub, cinemas, all trains,workplaces...etc...

After nearly 7 years I started again : in Québec, having drunk a bit too much, and here you are : 1 cigarette, then a second one... I bought a pack and the next day I was back at the start...
I´m a smoker since 1983.. I should quit right now!
Since that date, I´ve smoked each and every day, except 3 days in a month´s stay at the Hospital.
But most of my friends quited smoking in the last couple of years. My generation (born 1970) is getting smater!

Can I change my vote : SMOKER !
On June 8, 2006, I stopped again... This was a birthday present for my wife and I am still holding to it.
So : non-smoker...
but I will always stay a smoker ; as for an alcoholic : once you have passed a certain limit ; your body is so addicted that I am not allowed to have one smoke in the future, otherwise I will get addicted again.
Like bhoeyb... it's not included "sometime" or "just when having fun".
I can not be defined a smokers, I don't never feel the need of it, just I like it in particular brave nights or having beers with friends!
I smoked about 20-25 cigarettes a day. I have quit smoking on may 13th 1999, when I did my pregnancytest. That test was positive, so I stopped smoking then en never touched a cigarette again, because I think it is bad for my daughter as well. And to be honest: I really don't miss it!

I really hate smokers, when they smoke when I'm with them.
I can't breath, my eyes start to hurt and water, I really don't like it.
I can't even go to a restaurant or a pub, or I'm smoked out.
One of the few things I really liked in America were the smoke-free public spaced and restaurants.
Here in Belgium most restaurants have seperate non-smoking areas aswell, but most of the time you still smell the smoke or some people just don't obey the rules and smoke anyway. I really can't enjoy my meal if some jerk is smoking next to me or even in the same room as me.
They're not only killing themselves, but also others around them, including me. Although I don't drink it myself, I've got no problems with people drinking alcohol (Unless they go driving ofcourse). They don't disturb me with their habits and don't force me to drink the waste of their drinks (pee :p). Smokers do!
I fully agree with this!!!
(although the 'not-drinking' part is a different story But never in combination with driving!)
