This is Villa Vailima, just outside Apia. Robert Louis Stevenson, the Scottish writer (Treasure Island) had it built in 1890, because the thought the environment there might be helpful against his tuberculosis. Unfortunately he died only a few years later and now lies buried in a tomb on a neartby hilltop. If you like to sweat I can recommend the walk/climb to the tomb.
The mansion nowadays houses the Robert L. Stevenson museum. Vailima, which means five waters/lakes is also the name of the Samoan national beer
