Ha-ha, thanks for the tip, I hope I'm on time at the airport and will have time to explore next time when I take a flight somewhere. (that's actually next week.)

A couple of years ago I missed my Chrismas flight back home (the taxi didn't arrive on time) and so I spent the whole day at the airport waiting for the next possible flight. Maybe this will happen again... on the second thought... hopefully not. :P

And you think they'll be happy to see on the second day after you have been entering banknotes your whole first working-day!?

Roughly situated I'm in the basement, the deepest you can get by an elevator open for public.
Shall I hide a registered note near the most left entrance of the departure zone  !?

Every second day I get me forty Euro in Fivers from my nearest ATM at Röder Street, north of city center. Subsequently, I exchange them in bigger notes. Some restaurants or my hair-dresser are very grateful for that! :P Sometimes, colleagues are quite happy also, when I can help them... :D I use the bigger notes then to pay minor amounts and so I have some more notes to enter. From time to time we also have customers who pay cash for their deliveries. It is a pity, of course, that I do not have time and occasion to enter all those notes. Otherwise I would already be at first page. Yeah, so much activity to track down notes. Now it is more than 4700 of them but there is still no first hit.

But wait and see.

I'm leaving for Vienna after a couple of hours. I have a punch of Finnish 5- and 10-euro notes with me and I'm going to spend them there. Unfortunately, Austria seems to be an EBT-desert and it's very unlike any of my notes will ever be re-tracked.

No one knows.

Hello everybody; another thread to be dug out...

But well: We have got many new forum members which might have their stories to tell; for established members conditions of life might have changed.

Like for me. I still live in Wiesbaden but the company in Hofheim-Wallau I worked for has gone insolvent last summer. So, from my side, you will find no more location "Hofheim-Wallau" in the note list and there is no successor up to now.

Now I work in Rüsselsheim and there I get a high share of notes now. Further, it is my task to cash in the money for the personal sales.

In my comment field you will find no more "ATM Röder Street". This was very convenient as it is only some 300 meters away from home. Since some months ago, there is no more opportunity to select the bills you wish to get. No more chance to get your money in fivers only. So I have abandoned this ATM and prefer the one at the Wiesbadener Volksbank in Bleich Street. Up to 95 Euro can be dispensed there in fivers.

When until previously I have exchanged my fivers at banks, I do it in our accounting department now. Our accounter is always short of small notes and such our hobby helps her a lot. :D (Another good answer for the eternal question "What is EBT-ing good for?")

Maybe Wiesbaden might fall back in the city rankings considerably in the future. Want to find me a better place to live but Wiesbaden is simply too expensive and it takes quite some time every day to get to work in Rüsselsheim by train and back.

What about you? Are you new in the forum or did some things change in your situation as well which have their repercusssions on where you get and spend bills?

In what bank did you visit? I was in Milan in last days of August 2005 and I then visited some 40 banks in downtown area. I had mostly no problems changing money, althought I was a foreigner using english.

I sure hope someone would find some of those ~600 notes I left in Milan. They were mainly 5-20€ notes.

HI! I hope to find it in my shop!
They know me in that bank so it seems strange that I need 5ers to change for my activity and I give them other fivers 2 seconds after...it's normal for "normal" people to ask something

I'm just saying that you have pretty nice situation in Italy. People there are using a lot of cash so notes are circulating. Notes are also kept long in circulation there. You have also huge amount of banks where one could change notes easily. So one user like me (daily changing some 500€ into fivers in local banks) could very easily gather up tens of thousand notes in Italy. This is why I wonder pretty much nobody there have done it yet. You could be the pioneer for Milan area...

In milan I'm in the top ten with few notes +/- 1200 (It's 2 monts I am ebter) so more users are going well in this area.I agree with u that the situation could be nice for circulating cash(I am a student of financial markets and the studies of circulation are what I use to do) and it is a sort of peculiarity of Italians who does not trust too much in credit cards(even if they are changing their attitude in this years). But there is a great wall between us and the full EBTzation in Italy:the use of Internet, we are not at the first places for Internet flat utilization, so people can have cash, use it but it's not used to practice the web world.
...So thanx Klazu for "inseminate" my area!
