I went to Eurospar to change some notes this afternoon and there I was asked my opinion of a note.
I didn't write down the short code or serial but it had a K004 shortcode and a serial commencing T1. Such a note does not exist.
Also the checksum was 1 which is incorrect for an Irish note. Other than this it was a very good attempt at forgery.
Sorry I missed the incorrect of your post. Consider this to be useless then.
How do you get one as checksum? T is the 20th letter of the alphabet. In conclusion the checksum of any Irish note should equal 6. If you add all the digits and the digits of the letters position you receive 8 in all cases...
You cannot have 1 as a checksum with an Irish note. The point I was making is that they thought the note was counterfeit and I merely confirmed that for them
Not counterfeit but unusual.
This morning, in the post office I got some and notes. One of the had been repaired with sellotape. When I went to enter it I discovered that one half of the note had a serial beginning with P and the other half a serial beginning with T. I have the short code for the T half. Should I enter that or just forget about it.
You made me really laugh!! That's so funny!!
At least, extremelly unusual! Keep the note as a souvenir
(I was joking, just let it be and spend the note, although strictly speaking you have seen 2 notes... or 2 halfs of note)

Scan it or take a photo of it before spending that note.
When the Euro got introduced here there was word around you could lay the 2€ coins into your car during a cold night and the coin would seperate its inner part from the outer ring. Maybe this note was laying too long in a car...

Concerning the first part I am serious. I once found such a coin but it was merged 'upsidedown' again. Unfortunatly I spend it as fast as possible. Concerning the note idea - well just try and look if it will split I think if it will split by itself you could win the nobel prize for an explanation

Enter both sides of the banknote, because either one of them might have been found before and the next tracker might enter only one of the two codes.
For the missing short code, there are EBT users who can reconstruct it from the serial number. You can also just write something randomish as a short code, because having written the short code wrong is not a problem for hits. For the hits only the serial number is taken into account. The code I use if I don't know the actual code is D999Z9, because D makes no notes anymore, and therefore it is absolutely impossible, that there would ever be a banknote with such short code

I wrote this last may and now lightning has struck again. I have the shortcode for the V010 part.
Do the Irish dislike the British? Could be an easy explanation: Dividing the bills like this just 'destroys' London and Paris ...
If they don't - Irish notes are in a really bad state...

I don´t know what to think of a note I got today it´s a brand new unc M165******** U005B5 is it a counterfeit bill, or a once in a life time mistake from Valora
