Welcome on the Forum. I am trying to do my best to find your notes, to bring your hitratio down
I must visit Killarney some day and lose a few notes there :p
I must visit Tralee more often too. In Ireland most of my notes are exchanged around the Listowel area 😁

After a few days in the UK, I arrived in Γ‰ire for 2 days, mostly Dublin area. I plan to get rid of at least one €100 note... I also changed a few €5 on the Enterprise service from Belfast...

I wasn't expecting this 8O

I wasn't in Dublin.
It still amazes me, how notes can suddenly turn up when you're
not expecting them to.

I am getting good hits from Tesco over the last 6 months or so.
The :note-10: have been lucky.
There seems to be a lot of hit notes in circulation.
Now that we in Ireland are no longer printing our own
notes, would it be right to expect many used bundles of
notes to be imported from other parts of the euro zone?

I would rather assume that not the old rags but new notes will be delivered.

As my old friend Mick Jagger once stated:
"Who wants yesterdays papers
Who wants yesterdays girl ...."

Yeah, it's likely Ireland put its "production" up for bids, just like Belgium did (Portugal's Valora and one other supplier got that one).

Would supermarket chains like Tesco bring in their own notes?
The note I got in Oranmore from Cargill was brand new.
There were some people from the UK in the store at the time,
it wasn't busy,I could hear their accents.
It may have been one of their notes that I got.
They may have bought some lotto tickets before doing their shopping.
I had to renew my lotto, I think it was here that I got the note.

I think someone is bringing in used bundles.
Just because a note has been in circulation, there is no reason to destroy it.

Hello to all Irish Eurobilltrackers!

I'll be staying in Cork for 4 months because of my Erasmus (september to december) and there are some questions I wanted to ask you.

First is about the use of cash in :flag-ie: . I won't be an idiot and I'll of course bring my card with me, but, as you perfectly understand, I am much more interested in using cash. Is it still a widely accepted means of payments there or will I be forced to pay with card in most places?

Secondly, what's the choice of bills in Irish ATMs? In Spain we get :note-10: , :note-20: & :note-50: and I wanted to know if in Ireland you could get any :note-5:, :note-100: or :note-200: . I'll bring cash from Spain to try to get some hits in Ireland so I don't plan on using ATMs that much but, who knows, I may spend all the money and find myself in need of more. I'll try to bring as many :note-5: and :note-10: as possible so that they circulate around Ireland  ...

Thirdly, are there good chances of getting any hits around the Cork area? Or just Dublin? I mean, here in Spain it feels like a hit desert if you are not in Madrid or Barcelona... I would love to get some tips on "hit hunting" apart from just trying to obtain as many lower denomination bills as possible...

That's pretty much all :D

Hello Lapislazuli

There is no problem to spent your cash in Ireland. It is widely accepted.

Hits are very hard to find in Ireland, there are only 28 hits so far this year in whole Ireland. I am almost 10 month dry for hits. On the other hand, If you have a hit, there is a good change that it is an International hit :D

The ATM give us most of the times :note-20: and :note-50: sometimes i was getting a :note-5: or :note-10: but not often.

Enjoy your stay in Ireland and good luck with everything
