Milz... [anat.] splenic; splenetic
Milz {f} [anat.] spleen; lien
Milz {f} milt

so there are three different words for it in English?
splenic and splenetic seem to be adjective forms of spleen, not actually words of their own.

This was a bit more hairy:

milk
silk
sill
sell
tell
toll
tool
pool
poor
pour
sour

From rock to jazz? Uggh...that'll be a tough one. By not looking into it more carefully, I'd say it's not possible. I can think of only one word away from 'jazz' and it's a bit dirty. :oops: :wink:

Umm...I dunno how appropriate it is to use such words on this kind of a board with undoubtedly minorities reading it too, but here goes: the word is 'jizz' which is a slang term for the thick, viscid, whitish fluid of the male reproductive tract that is ejaculated during sexual excitement. :twisted: :wink:

While you're trying to shift from rock to jazz, here's one more:

bore -> yawn

And yet another:

note -> coin

and some variants of that:

bill -> coin
bill -> note

(As I have understood, the two words should be somehow related to each other, and preferably in a bit funny way, so I keep inventing this kind of pairs...)

Here's one where the word must be reversed:

note -> Eton
