Guten Tag
I am not sure you can get 2 dots in Paris but both stations have different postal codes gare du nord is : 75010 and gare St Lazare is : 75008 .
Unfortunatly I cannot tell you much about Caen besides it has a seeport and there are ferries to Portsmouth so there should be places to change cash.

As I am studying in Caen, I think that the best way to obtain notes is to find an ATM, or to ask in shops (only if you buy something !!!)
In France, the banks don't have cash au "guichet" (I can't remember the english word).
As for the post office, you can only change notes if you have an account (but not in the same one so you need to find one to put you money and then another to withdraw it). Fucking country

Ok, one more question (specially to users living in Paris):
I will arrive on 01.02. at Gare de l`Est at 12:34 and my connection train goes at 13:08 Gare St. Lazare.
Which is the best possibility to get this train (because I have a limited ticket)?
Is it better to take the Metro or a taxi?

by taxi, it will cost you a fortune, and you will have to queue before getting a taxi. If there's not too much traffic, it's +/- feasible...
By metro, take line 7 (direction "Villejuif" or "Mairie d'Ivry"), and make a connection at "Opera" ; take line 3 (direction "Pont de Levallois-Becon") ;once you are in the metro, it will take you to gare Saint-Lazare in +/- 20 minutes)
Honestly speaking, this is a VERY short connection between your two trains.

Both are difficult in the time you have, and it's at 12:00 ...

The next train is 1,5 hrs later and I won´t let my girlfriend wait
I think I need good luck to catch all metro-trains...

I suggest you to have headache when you arrive in Paris, then go out of Gare de l'est, walk down the boulevard de Strasbourg for 200 meters, turn on your right at the metro chateau d'eau, then buy a box of aspirin !!

I have here some hit-bills... and I can make then to triples with french participation
