The prices they sell the rolls are very high and are not representative of the real market. I don't think that 400.000 people in Europe are ready to buy the coins at this price. It is all about speculation.

And it is not even possible to ask the charity of Slovenian people who are able to find them in circulation, since my topic has been locked.

I will do my best to obtain rolls of the french coin and give it to our fellow ebters for its facial value (2 euros).

I don't think many more Slovenian ToR commemos will be minted, because
regulation prohibits this. The maximum number of 2€ commemos a country is
allowed to mint is 1/50 of the total amount of normal 2€ coins minted by that
country. Slovenia has minted 21.350.000 2€ coins (see www.euro-auflagen.de),
so the maximum amount of 2€ commemos Slovenia is allowed to mint is
21.350.000/50 = 427.000. Until now, Slovenia has had 400.000 ToR commemos
minted, so they are allowed to mint an additional 27.000 commemos only. If
they get minted, they will be minted by the Mint of Finland. The extra coins
will have to be flown to Slovenia, and that is quite expensive. If Slovenia
would mint several hundreds of thousands of extra commemos the total costs
per coin (incl. shipping costs) wouldn't be very high, but 27.000 coins is a
small quantity, so the total costs per coin would be quite high.

But we all try to do the best.....but i do not understand why your topic was locked......there must be something between moderators.

But maybe some tricks are possible though, like mint 1.000.000 further ToR-coins now and set off against the slovenian 2008-issue of 2€.

Hmm. The Council conclusion regarding commemorative €2 coins says that "the total number of coins put into circulation for each individual issue should not exceed the higher of the following two ceilings:

(i) 0.1% of the total number of 2-euro coins in circulation, brought into circulation by all issuing States, at the beginning of the year preceding the year of issuance of the commemorative coin, this ceiling being raised exceptionally to up to 2.0% of the total circulation of 2-euro coins of all issuing States if a truly global and highly symbolic event is commemorated, in which case the issuer should refrain from launching another similar commemorative circulation coin issue during the subsequent four years;

(ii) 5.0% of the total number of 2-euro coins in circulation, brought into circulation by the issuing State concerned, at the beginning of the year preceding the year of issuance of the commemorative coin."

So I suppose the mintage of that Slovenian commem could well be higher. Have not done any calculations yet though.

Finnland überlegt ebenfalls zusätzliche Münzen zu produzieren. Die Entscheidung über weitere Münzen aus Slowenien fiel gestern, doch sind derzeit keine Informationen zur Entscheidung bekannt. Well, I have thought writing to slovenian people a post in their topic for "english speakers users" but I don`t know if they get angry with me. Anyway, I have been collecting euros since 2002 and I have never found the problems I have right now for finding this coin and there are coins in other countries with less mintage.
I hope some good slovenian ebtracker can help us

Aha! I wondered what this coin was.... I got it in change at Schiphol.

It has a picture of a book on a star/flower, with the inscription:
"Römische Verträge 50 Jahre" above and "Budesrepublik Deutshcland" below.

Well, it depends on the letter that's on top of the coin.

The mintages of the German ToR €2 pieces:
A: 1.000.000 -- D: 14.500.000 -- F: 8.000.000 -- G: 5.000.000 -- J: 1.500.000

I guess this is the small letter next to "2007"...? Well, it's "F", so it's one in 8 million... doesn't sound very rare to me...(but then again, I have no idea what would constitute a rare coin )
