The strangest bank note I got was a :note-50: :flag-es: P/V. It was in a couple of :note-50: notes where some other ones with P/X were. So I had a look at the shortcode and thought, well its an old German one (I write my bank notes on a list) wrote the letter X and turned the note... .
But that V shocked me! I had a lot of :note-50: notes before, but no other was a P/V combination. Moreover, I never recieved another one.

I also find :note-20: or :note-50: :flag-pt: H/M rare. On 2448 bank notes I must have recieved 1 :note-20: and 2 :note-50: with that combination. Why did Portugal print them in the UK?

I believe De la Rue (the British printer) was a minority partner in the Portuguese printer (Valora) at the start of the Euro, that may have something to do with it. Those notes are from the Duisenberg days, they are indeed a rarity now (well, they were never that common, not even here).

Probably because Portugal was way behind schedule with its initial euro bill production, and De la Rue was lucky enough to win one tender to print one tender to print the Portuguese :note-50: and another one to print the :note-20: . And Portugal wasn't alone: Spain needed help from Giesecke & Devrient for its :note-50: and the National Bank of Belgium for its :note-200: and :note-500: . Other delayed countries included France (U/P :note-100: and U/T :note-200: and :note-500: ), the Netherlands (P/P :note-5: , :note-10: and :note-20: , and P/H :note-50: ), Ireland (T/H :note-20: ), Finland (L/H :note-50: ) and Greece (Y/F :note-10: , Y/G :note-50: , Y/G :note-100: , Y/P :note-100: and Y/R :note-200: and :note-500: ).

So, there aren`t a lot of countries left, which were on time. I just see Germany, Italy and Austria, is that right?
But these delays cause funny combinations :D , although I didn`t receive any  (except from the :note-50: P/V)

Today I received a :note-100: H002D5 (De La Rue) L :flag-fi: . How common is that? I'm new to this, but find it really interesting.
Which combinations are rare?
Thanks a bunch!

It seems to be a rather rare one, and I got one :D  :D ! But now it is a part of my collection, so I won`t spend it again.

As far as I know R/P :note-5: only exists as R003/P033 (pooled to the Netherlands) and R003/P034 (pooled to Ireland). I have tracked exactly one, of the latter.

I found this :note-5: from library in Helsinki. Spanish artist Riiko Sakkinen had hidden it and also signed and numbered it. (http://www.riikosakkinen.com/search/?in ... k.%20money" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) If someone is interested about this note, send private message to me :) I'm thinking of selling it.
