Suspicious notes and users

I just had another hit with Finland with 0 days. Nevertheless I think it's interesting and would like the hit to be unmoderated.

Yesterday, many hits were moderated between those two users. I'm sure that this hit is clearly a fake one!

Suddenly, there have been a lot of portuguese hits being faked and obviously moderated... We certainly don't want to be known as fakers or cheaters.

I have noticed this. But it's not all portuguese that are faking. It's few (perhaps only one?) missbehaving children playing with us. And I guess some of them aren't even portuguese. We should get on to these fakers (I guess admins are already doing this) and take them down.

The hit you mentioned is very probably fake, if those users previously had fake hits between each other.

Also this triple is very very suspicious since both finnish users have only few notes entered. And the last place has impossible city/postcode combination. I would say that in 99,9% cases when something looks too good to be true, it very probably is. Our mods should use their common sence to make judges...

In that triple case the last two users at least know each other. This is what I believe.

The reason for those guidelines are posted allready in this thread somewhere. There are 18 moderators and there is no need to flood this thread with obvious fake hits. 99% of those fake hits get moderated within 24 hours. We all know that you mean well, but please follow the guidelines.

Having been the other party to this 0-day hit I think it is necessary to tell my side of the story. Indeed, 0-day hits can be interesting. In this case I received the bill as a change from a shop at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport while waiting for my flight to Brussels. So I took the bill to Belgium and obviously used it when buying a train ticket at the Brussels airport railway station. Little did I know that there would be a bill-hungry tracker at the station prowling for my poor little euro bill

Having now browsed through this forum (I'm a newbie since 24 Sept 2005) I know the situation better. I hope that you believe me when I pledge that this was a genuine bona fide transaction. I travel to Brussels more or less regularly due to my job and I have bought train tickets there dozens of times. And I will most likely continue the same pattern as I'll be going to Brussels again in a couple of days time. And besides, train to the City costs only € 2,60 compared to a bus ticket for express buss number 12 costing € 3. So quess which option I choose?

The "problem" now seems to be that we will most likely get more Finno-Belgian hits very similar to this one. I hope that you can tolerate this kind of hits.

As long as you don't choose the train because of Hoppa, but for some other reason, then there shouldn't be any problem.
Maybe you could learn to know hoppa's face so that you can tell him your notes are tracked. If the hits keep appearing (and you consider it annoying), there might be some another ticket selling booth or a ticket selling machine there. You could use them, instead.

Eventually certain users will blame you as a faker. Please don't care about their annoying words. Your heart knows better than their witch hunting sense. If you see no reason why you'd be doing something wrong, then you're quite surely are not doing anything wrong.

Even if juristi M would know me after some time and tell me that the note he gives me has allready been entered I would still enter it. If they get moderated, so be it; but the whole reason for the site is to learn how notes travel and thus the notes should be entered in ebt as much as possible.
Even if it gets moderated, if it becomes a triple or more, it will reappear in the list and then we would see the real route the note made.

Agreed. As long as he doesn't starts 'visiting' you to get these hits it's all fine to me...

50 € banknote # Vxxxx7040xxx seems to be from a poster published by ECB. In the poster both serial and short code are readable. You can also find the same banknote on ECB website http://www.euro.ecb.int/en/section/testnotes.nd50.html but there you can't see the short code.

I think all 7 Euro banknotes visible in that poster should be blocked from EBT. I don't believe that those notes are really in circulation.

I think it was already mentioned that the short-code ain't given in consideration when a ht is made. Only the serial.

I agree on "banning" those notes.

He tried to be clever when he entered some bank name in comment field. So we wouldn't consider consecutive serials as suspicious. This is done only to fool us. Having such serial numbers with different value is impossible and makes him an obvious faker.
