I just found IT!
The most rare 20 eur 2015 note, ZD, Z002, VF condition.
I do not collect small notes by plates or prefix. I am interested in 500 eur notes mostly.

So, what should I do with that?
Is there any good market value?

Never seen that. Quite rare. And I check hundreds every week

Anyone collect these rare plate codes?
I dont know what to do with that.
Or collecting plate codes is too specific and even in future nobody wants them?

Congratulations for finding a R014/RC, ringo34.

Yes, there are collectors for all kinds of things, including Euro banknotes of rare plates.

It looks like R014/RC are not that easy to sell for the right price though (except maybe directly to collectors).

On Delcampe, there's a "circulated" one for sale since 2025-02-21, for 75€, still no offers. The last ones sold there were:

• AU 2023-11-23 65€ (but the seller didn't stress out that it was RC, so I think they didn't know of its rarity; also, it took more than 6 months to finally find a buyer)
• UNC 2023-01-12 100€
• AU 2020-02-22 95€

On Aukro (Czechia), a 5/10 one was offered for 65€, and it ended on 2021-11-16 with no bid.

Berriot claims it to be 222€ if UNC A1; yours (XF = 7/10, not A1) would be 145€. Sohier quotes it 180€ (again, UNC). Taking into account its relative rarity, they might both be close to fair prices — but maybe there aren't enough collectors interested. With no buyers, rarities are worthless.

I only know of R014/RC in the range RC0030 to RC0069. If it turns out to be the sole RC range for R014, then it's not 6 million but only 4 Million. ⁽¹⁾ (But there are ranges that didn't surface yet, so Sohier's estimate of 6,5 M might be right.) In any case, it's not one of those really rare combos with less than 1M printed.

I would save it, nevertheless. In fact, I have found 9 of those so far, and I saved 5 of them, a A1 and the other four probably XF like yours.

I don't have moderator credentials on this forum, otherwise I would have taken down your photo immediately. Please remove it as soon as you read this. We don't publish complete serial numbers here. It is now a public serial, and any future hit with it will be hidden. (You could have just said "I found a cool serial number where all digits are the same except for one in the middle" or something like that; or publish a masked number like "AAaaaabaaaaa".)

To answer your question: there are collectors of fancy serial numbers, although very few for Euro banknotes. There's a whole community of fancy serial collectors for USD, INR and CNY.

Your serial number is:

• a binary. For collectors looking for fancy serials, a binary per se is not much of a rarity. In fact, for notes of the Europa series, it's 1 in 217439. I guess a simple binary wouldn't be bought for more than 25€ over face value.
• a 9 of a kind. Now this is much rarer. On Europas, just 1 in 52.6 milllion. Or, if you prefer, not much more than 1000 were issued so far. This alone would upgrade it to hundreds of euros over face value. But… for a start, a "9 of a kind" is a bittersweet number, looking so close to a solid number (all digits equal) that they aren't coveted; and anyway you should take around 40% off just for not being in UNC condition and not being a A1 on the printer code.

In your place, I would keep it, I would devote my next years trying to find the correct forums, marketplaces and auction houses, and then either:

1. post a thoughtful sale or auction on those, or;
2. spend some money to get it graded (by PMG, for example), and auction it through a reputable auction house. This may be worth it.

Who knows, maybe Americans, Indians, Chinese and Arabs (these four are the main maniacs of fancy serials) start looking at Euro banknote serial numbers as what they really are: much more interesting and rarer than the 8-, 7- and 6-digits banknotes they usually collect.
