Harry Wijnschenk is one of the people in the party founded by Fortuyn (LPF). this party got an awful lot of votes in the last elections as some sort of condoleance. It had a 'fraction' of 26 out of 150 members of the parliament. but the party isn't very well organized at first the leader was Mat Herben (a bit of a pity man with absolutely no charisma and he made the Netherlands participate in the american JSF   ) His collegues didn't thinbk he did it very well and a new leader was choosen: Harry Wijnschenk a former advertisement salesman for a motormagazine. but he didn't do it very good either, he argued with his own ministers and 2 people were forced out of the fraction (one of them manisch depressief (i don't know the word in english) and the other a former exploitant of erotic phones and websites.
At this moment 2 of their ministers need an external advisor to be able to talk to eachother. And Harry Wijnschenk probably has to step back and Mat Herben will again lead the fraction.

The conclusion can be the LPF really messed things up and the coalition will fall and we will have new elections in a few months where the LPF will move from 26 to 4 members. of course nothing is really certain about that at the moment but there is a high propability it won't make the 100 days (that will be on 30 october)

sorry for the long post but everything is rather funny actually at this moment in dutch politics.

There was an announcement on the news today that Europe will get a constitution and a president. Is that a real thing or is it going to be just a "fake" constitution and a president who has high salary but no importance?

I think that was only a proposal of that that French guy (Valery Gisgard d'Estang, is that correctly written?). There were also mentions about common defence and changing the name of the EU (!?) and some other things. I think If EU is going to have a president (I hope so), he will have some real power.

Another news today: Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson confirmed that Sweden will have an EMU referendum next year, either next spring or next autumn. If the result of the referendum is positive, Sweden would start using euros in 2006.

'A President for EU' -discussion is on again. Today the Swedish PM Göran Persson announced that he wants the EU to have a president too and stands behind the French proposition (France would like the Council to elect the president while the Germans would like EP to elect him/her):

What is in the beginning a man, in the middle woman and in the end a sewing machine?

The discussion will take place very soon. A referendum will be organized in France in the second semester 2005.
I don't still know if i'll vote yes or no.
