Old fivers are getting rare also in Finland. Okay, I get many old fivers when I had an own pop-up cafe, and you can also get old fivers from shops and banks, but about 80 or 90 per cent of fivers are new ones. So that's why I often don't take fivers from my bank account, because it's quite difficult to get hits with new fivers, espicially with unused ones. I'm not sure what will happen with new 10 euro notes, how long it takes to get them in common.

In Galway city I think it is down to about 5%
The local business people got together and decided that they did not want to give out old worn notes to their customers.
They actively seek to take worn notes out of circulation.
These people are just a pain in the arse.

Tell them to put them aside for you to harvest.

I got hold of an
old fiver (U/L) in shockingly
good condition today.

2002 fivers have indeed become scarce down here.

Results of the last days (includes my holidays, where I didn't have the time to enter notes):

Belgium:
De Panne, bookshop, used and only given as the customer before me paid with it. The cashier didn't understand why I wanted to have an old

.
Le Roeulx, change at a petrol station, very bad condition; I wonder why it's still circulating (seems to have been washed or something like that

)

Luxembourg:
Luxembourg, change after parking, quite good condition
Normally, I write comments in German and English, but with the help of my brother, I decided to write the second comment in French for
and
. However, the translation may be incorrect

Germany:
Heusenstamm, used, but normal signs of use for it's age
Frankfurt am Main, quite good condition

For my daily week days quota of notes I use Banks, depending on which Bank I use I may stay 2-3-4 days with out seeing an old 2002

If I use BPI/Montepio to have fivers I may not see an old 2002 for 5 days, but if I use Crédito Agrícola (CA) or Caixa Geral de Depósitos (C.G.D) then for sure I´ll get old fivers and even (Dear Lord) Duisenbergs! In different conditions (from new to I can´t believe this note is still around). On week ends I get my fivers from local shops, with them I may get more 2002

than from Banks. It´s all luck IMO.
But old fivers are getting rare to see this days, in every 10

I get I may see 2/3 2002 max
