I work from home, which definitely has its advantages, but I was quite surprised last week when I was sitting in my office on a call with a customer, when a sparrowhawk flew into my garden and caught a bird right in front of me. I then spent the next 30 minutes of the call watching as the sparrowhawk tore its prey apart! Eventually I got off the call and got out my camera. It was early evening, so rather dark and difficult to get a good picture with a zoom lens... but eventually I got this (photo 48

And after moving into the garden and scaring the bird so that it flew into my neighbour's garden, I eventually managed to snap the best picture of all (photo 73, I think

On friday morning I spend some hours on a nearby hill trying to see comet McNaught. Well it was a bit clody in the morning and I didn´t see the comet. Well I took some pictures anyway. After sunset I also got some pictures of the comet. The comet wasn´t as great as previous evening, but still it was nice to see it.

It was -20 C that day.

First the comet after sunset:

Some pictures I took in the mornig. There are reindeer, scenery up in the hill and a halo I saw when I walked back to town.
