From my point of view, it is the oposite: new Europa-Series do not give the printer information anymore, since the first character in the printer code is just a repetition of the country code.
For example, most Spanish eurofivers are V004/VA59, not "M002/MC24".

In fact, jonman is right. The country code used to mean which country had commissioned the printing. That information is no longer available. The only information we know now is where the note was printed, that is, the printer. Here's the
official information:
“THE EURO: OUR MONEY” OFFICIAL WEBSITE wrote:Serial numbers on the Europa series of banknotes
[…]
The first letter identifies the printing works – see the list below. The second letter has no particular meaning; it simply makes more serial numbers possible.

the complete information about which letter goes with which printer location can be found here:

Just checked my NIG-map (yes, I still haven't deleted it) and didn't find a codes-file for Egypt there. This means it is possible EBTST doesn't have it neither. So someone who knows his/her Egyptian postcodes must create a file and submit it to dserrano5.

I'm having problems to renew the SSL certificate for dserrano5.es, which expires next tuesday. If I'm not provided the new certificate by then, you're going to get ugly SSL errors when using EBTST. They are harmless as long as you don't publish any sensitive info, which hopefully EBT data isn't

.
Posting this to invoke Murphy's law in order to have it solved before it becomes a problem
