Yes, indeed. Because Rovaniemi is just south of the Polarcircle, I hitchhiked my way north to the nearest village. I believe it was in 1986.

East: Letschin (near frontier to Poland)
South: Wünsdorf (20km south of Berlin)
West: Spandau (belongs to Berlin)

East: Szczeczin/Poland i guess last in 2003
