Weirdly, I found Finnish 1c here in Wien last year. (somebody claimed they were not minted for circulation) And it has 2006 on it, which is more confusing... If Finland minted only a symbolic amount for 2002 EUR introduction, and then immediately started to round prices to 5c, why to mint 1c in 2006?

Finish 1 and 2 cents are minted (some million pieces a year) but they are not in use. Therefore they are very hard to find :). However stores have to take 1 and 2 cents if you pay the rounded price.

Thanx for the link, nice one.
So, Finland keeps some 1c 2c mintage, with reasonable amounts. And what they do with those coins, pool to other countries?

The coins are sold to collectors, they are not circulating coins. (although they are valid currency and some people do put them into circulation just for fun)

Yes, they're circulating. If you are lucky, you can even find one ( at least in Finland ).

I'm looking for Luxembourg 2€ CC 2007... It seems that is also hard to find... at least for me...

If some one has it in double send me a PM and maybe we can make a swap.

The high quality stuff is sold onto the collectors' market, the poor stuff is sold as souvenirs to tourists with quite nice profits in both cases .....

Of course I could see more from my eurodiffusie.nl statistics.
But here's how I feel it is:
Some 80% of the coins are Finnish.
The foreign ones are most likely from Spain, Germany or France. All Benelux countries are rare - I actually see about as many Portuguese coins as I see coins from the three Benelux countries added together. Since January 2002 I have seen two Letzebuërgish coins.
Also Greek and Italian coins are relatively easy to find. Austrians are surprisingly common, taking into account that I can't figure what kind of connection Finland and Austria have got with each other.
I have tons of Belgian coins lol.
I've never seen a CC from Ireland in circulation before here. Neither the 1 cent. Still looking for them :)
