In Madrid, the average of the rent is 948 €.
The 5% are below 500 €
The 66% are between 500 and 1000 €

Luckily, I don't pay a rent (for the moment)

I found something in Anderlecht, a beautiful duplex appartment (under the roof, with an "extra" floor above the shower area), but because it's housesharing, the people who live there have to pick me. And there where other candidates...

€ 990 for a shop + three storey house.
Other shops (without place to live) in this street were around €1500-2500 so this was a lucky chance

yet, it's a very big amount of money to get from selling cd's..

I found my appartment (the duplex in Anderlecht didn't go through), some 100 m away from the former. I do pay 550, now, plus 15 euro for water. Wooden floor, new kitchen, balcony, terrace on the back side, high ceiling, but just one big space, no separate bed room. Still quite happy.
