V010 entered Guy Sohier's catalogue, and it's a Draghi.
And another surprise... They seem to be part of the 2016 production (as there were no

produced in 2017 and 2018 and 2019 there was only a German order).
Let's see what is still "sleeping" in the safes... As I get almost no UNC bills from ATMs right now, it seems as if the central banks preferrably give out used notes at the moment (which is actually great for EBT as it increases the chances for hits)

I have found a S001

bill today with an inverted hologram stripe (5 and € on the stripe not facing the short vertical serial number). It is not in great condition but I have never seen this ever before. Must have been an issue during production. I guess this is very rare - does anybody has more info on this?

In Germany you have to check absolut 8000 5Euro notes to finde 1 with inverted iridescent stripe. They are rare in UNC condition.
I found 4 or 5 so far. All in usual circulated.

The second character of the serialnumber is the problem. Only A-F, H and Z are possible until now. This has to be changed...

this means we R013 with Draghi and Lagarde signature
I'm already start to think how to check for this correctly in EBTCheck, but should be easy if I can trust only for the second letter

Hmm, the RP

seem to be the JET (Joint European Tender, that is the Netherlands and a group of smaller countries combined) from 2020. Perhaps the Bundesdrückerei decided to use the second letter to indicate the country, like they used to with the first series, so maybe we'll get RD, RE, RF, RG, RH and RL as well...

So, "P" for "NL" maybe?

Hi

I have been thinking about this issue of the second letters. First, I must say that it would be cool to have again national letters. Second, I don't know which "small countries" are those that would justify, let's say RP for Nederland, or RR for Luxembourg, or RZ for Belgium, or RL for Finland, to say a few. I'd say it's imaginative, to say the politically correct word. But it seems that a few E001 printing plate 5ers have been registered without any issue, meaning that teir serials are EA, EB or EC (ok, maybe ED...) but none of these three letters correspond to any country. Only if there were ED, EE, EF, EG, that were national letters, but as long as the hidden digits show as they do, we cannot see them unless a user posts photos of such fivers. My thoughts on RP bills go more to "out of the line" things, like the XZ or VH twentiers appeared a couple of years ago.
Sorry to ruin dreams (I'd love to be mistaken, though)

To track, but in general it's better now.

Really? Why?
I thought that denominating series by printers was because ECB had taken the responsability of printing paper, which had been before on national banks' accounts. But it seems that banknotes are still commisioned to different countries' central banks. Then, why not keep national letters and printer codes separately? OK, I'm nobody, and off course, don't have the smallest decision capacity, but I would have kept the old system. Yes, I assume that most banknotes from Cyprus, Malta, Slovenia, Slovakia, Lithuania, etc., were printed in the Netherlands, and some in Germany and France, too. But, wasn't it nice to see a D, or an E, or an F, or a G, or an H in the serial numbers? Now we don't know anything. The commissioning registers are not public, or if they are (were), they are not (wouldn't be) clarifying anything. I mean: do we (can we) know if banknotes from UB27*** to UB98*** are comissioned to Banque de France, and UB99*** to UC23*** to Central Bank of Malta, and from UC24*** to UC68*** to Central bank of Cyprus? And if we could know it, which would be the difference btween these serialnumbers? NONE. The only "non-ordinary" thing we have (to call it somehow), are banknotes printed in Bulgaria.
Very boring...
