Wow! Have you ever seen ONE of those?? 8O

I once found a palindrome serial number, but it wasn't an Euro note (it was an AU$ 50)

it is very very rare to find just one... (imo)
If I calculate correctly, of the potential 1 billion notes (per country code) there are 100.000 palindrome notes, or 1:10.000 (this is not taking special numbering schemes into account).
So the chance is not so small.

Do not upload these pictures. The chance of faking is very high.

The fact that these serials are already public does not mean you can post them here. The chance that any faker would find them on an Italian coinsforum is not so high, but when posted here on the forum it would be an invitation to fakers.....

Hello,

i´ve made a NIG Datei with all Postcodes from the German Districts : Böblingen/Ludwigsburg/Rems-Murr/Esslingen/Göppingen and Stuttgart. I hope you can use it for your tracking tours.

Two new things:

1: There is a new NIG version available, version 1.81, with according to Bobtail:
A few fixes, G/G trivialities and a command line option to load notes from a certain year only ('2009' should do the job for last year's notes).

2: I have before tried to make a code file for the United Kingdom, but that did not really work out. Today I fixed it, having the idea that it should be based on names, not on the postcodes. I will upload the file shortly, though this requires switching computers to a very old laptop, so it might take a little time.

Edit: The file is now available at: http://www.student.tue.nl/P/r.j.a.j.v.b ... ingdom.txt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Edit2: Two small correction, if anyone got the file early, the right version has "Loaded United Kingdom Name File (version 31-01-2010 and three fourths)"
My NIG stats have finally disappeared. My EBTST stats are still available.

2009only.bat works fine, although also hits 2010 also taken into calculations.

Is it possible to change this file for other years ?

Seems some sort of bug to me. I have the idea that NIG checks for your note entry date where it should be (in my opinion) hit date.

To whoever is maintaining the Belgian code file:

There is a very small error resulting in the village Meerle not being counted in the group "Communities in Provincie Antwerpen".

The line: "2328 Meerle" should of course be: "2328=Meerle".

I've also heard Vermeer say that NIG takes a very very very long time to load his notes. He didn't mention NIG failing, so I guess it just takes a long time.

I mean, just for my 11.000 notes NIG takes half a minute to load. If that goes linear to 900.000 notes, than it would take 40 minutes just to start up. And then you haven't created any statistics yet.

At this moment i have a backup-pc in use, because my other one crashed. This (last) pc has 128 Mb memory and my note-csv is 108 MB (113.907.733 bytes) at this moment. So my pc can not handle it. Only with a new pc will i run NIG. The loading of information with the old pc took 1 hour and analyzing took at least 1 hour depending whether something else ran on the pc. I am waiting for the deal to buy a new pc that i can not refuse.
