It's a trip organised by our school, so we're obligated to go there. :p
But I think it's going to be nice, and I hope the weather also is...
Waow! You lucky! Prague is so beautiful! I am sure you'll enjoy it!
I've been there in 1992... already 11 years ago. At this time, Tchecoslovaquie still existed. ;-)

Light rain here today. But we need more, we haven't had big rains for almost a year now and our water supplies are running low. We had some snow and the melting snow helped us already but we need more, we need rains.

PS 'we' means the city of Turku and even the entire Finland, to make things clear

It has snowed last night and the night before that. Well, I think I better not change the summer tyres to my car yet.

Well, it would be a bit hard for me to give them a hint. Imagine, I call the police from Turku to tell that a guy called airis has illegal tyres in Rovaniemi

8O 8O Is there a law that forbids to use summertyres during the winter in Finland...?

When is it legal again to use those summertyres instead fo wintertyres...?

And is there also a law that you must use summertyres during the summer or just that you must use wintertyres during the winter...?

The law is that you may not use wintertyres in the summer because that is not good for the roads

okay, but when does the summer start...? Is it the day that all snow has melted or a certain specific date?

And why don't you just use summertyres all year round...? Or is that way to dangerous...? (What is the differance between summer- and wintertyres..?)

i'm sorry, i'm not used to drive in snowy conditions so i don't know a thing about it...

the differance:

There's a diferent between the tyres, I don't know how to say in English so I will say it in dutch, Some one must be able to translate it.

(dutch)
Op de winterbanden zitten er kettingen om de wielen heen zodat je niet slipt in een gladde bocht, door die kettingen heb je meer grip op de weg.

What Fons describes are snow chains. Winter tyres have a different composition of rubber which is softer at low temperatures. Also the shaping of the grooves is different (more coarsely carved).

As a Michael Schumacher supporter I recommend http://www.bridgestone-eu.com/english/b ... erange.htm for further information.

In Finland they still use tyres with spikes in the winter. We had spikes for few years in Germany as well (in the late 60s, early 70s), but they ruin the roads when there is no snow or ice.

Thank you Donald!

(and fons as well, although you didn't give the right answer  )

And hé Donald, what do you think will Schumi win again in Spain?
I sure do hope so, although I'm not Schumi greatest fan. But i like it when it is close between the best drivers in the rankings.

Propably Ferrari will be the only team left at the end of the season. The rest might go bankrupt

But about the wetter: There is some sun and clouds here right now. There is quite a lot of wind today.

Donald was not completely correct, not everybody uses wintertyres with spikes. Kitkarenkaat, like we call wintertyres without spikes, are getting more and more common.
And about the start of the summer, it's just a date someone has decided. But at least here in the south we don't need to use wintertyres as long as allowed, it is different for airis in the north. And yes, we don't use summertyres all year because it would be too dangerous.
