The airport is in Vantaa and it's 1h30min from the Tikkurila railway station (in Vantaa) to Tampere. Though the bus trip from the airport to the Tikkurila railway station takes some 20 minutes. (While Tampere (Pirkkala) airport -> Tampere is about that 20 min, too, if I remember right. Maybe a bit more)

Well I do have a headache. Not that bad anymore but the morning was horrible

Anyway 9 trackers arrived to the meeting and all were very nice people. I think we all had real good time, avij got few improvement suggestions. We sat about 5 hours together, talking about EBT, changing money in a bank, hits, €-coins, this and that..... .

Unfortunately Fundamental had to leave earlier for work. After the others left, I and SPACE FP had few more beers. I think this is going to be a tradition.

Sounds nice!
Maybe over some years I can be there also. :)

I hope the EBT-Meeting in Brussels will be also very cool!

btw, on the 5th of June my brother and I had an EBT-Meeting as well!
Venga (Vengaboys) came here.
And we went to ans in Oosterhout, it's just 20 km. from here!
That was also a great day!
We talked a lot about EBT!

I can't wait for August right now!!

Yes, it was nice to see some fellow EBTers in Tampere, lots of people with different backgrounds etc. I'm glad I was able to be there :)

To bring this discussion back to topic (EBT Meeting 2004 in Brussels), some observations which might be useful in August as well

We met in a bar and we had agreed that we'll only pay for our food&drink with 5€ notes so that we wouldn't get each others' notes as a change. This plan worked pretty well, so I'd suggest doing it this way in Brussels as well. When you're alone in the city, you're free to pay with whatever note you have, but when there are lots of EBTers in the same place it's better to use only 5€ notes. And there are always ATMs from which you can get local money if you want.

Finding the right people from a crowded place might be a bit difficult, so the meeting place should be defined exactly. aplfi had send me his phone number, but I forgot to write it down  (ok, perhaps it was only me who didn't spot the "EBT" paper in the table, dunno).

The Tampere meeting place was right next to the railway station, which was a good decision for us who came from other cities.

Great additions Avij.

I'm in favor for the 5-euronotes, but to be on the save side, I suggest everybody write EBTM04 in the commentfield when he/she enters the note in our system. This has a double effect, the 'friendly hits' will be easily detected AND when the note becomes in the future a hit, it's something special, because we were all nearby that hit. A sort of grouphit

As for the detailed planning. I was thinking to give my cellarphonenumber to everybody who joins the meeting. I presume everybody has a cellar phone or has spare change to use the public phones.

The friday, will be a bit difficult, but I will try to organise that the Belgium members, will guide everybody to the right meetingspot.

I'm already looking forward to this day!

Each one should tell their mobile numbers to several people so that they can be caught on line if something goes or seems to be wrong.

But.. How on earth are we going to handle this, exactly? Should some local people tell their numbers or what?

Mine's anyway +358415149227. I don't think it's a problem showing the number in public. If you feel like calling me, then go for it. Always nice hearing about random people :)

EDIT: Just to mention, I'm not a local Belgian ;)

I agree. We should tell each other our phone numbers. If you don't want to tell them 'publicly', you can send a pm to several EBT'ers who are visiting the meeting.
This is my number: 00 31 6 15196156

You have to add area code on your phone number. In Finland if your number is 040 123 456 the same number with area code is +35840 123 456. Notice that first 0 drop away.

Yes, please! So I can organize better and I know where to go to in a city I have never been before. Anyway, I look forward a lot to our meeting.
