Yok's wrote:But What sort of studies did you do to travel all around Europe ? After reading your profil, I undertsand your are from finland and studies on germany...
I must update my profile to fill in more information since so many people have been wondering my situation... :)

But here's some information: I'm a nearly graduated student from University of Joensuu in Eastern-Finland. I have already completed all of my courses and done my Master's Thesis there. I only lack a 6 month work training period for the graduation. The situation is also same with my girlfriend.

We had planed that we would search for the training place abroad since international work experience is appreciated in Finland. We thought it would be hard to search for one all the way from Finland, so we decided to first move to Germany (where we're hoping to find the place) to study for some months (learn german which we have studied for few years in school). So this is the status quo. We are studying german here until end of February 2007. After that we hope to start our work training in some company and stay even longer here. But that's not for sure at this point.

The Winter Semester in University of Dortmund starts next week so we had two weeks spare time before that. We decided to exploit our stay here in the Central-Europe (which looks to be so far a way from Finland and especially Joensuu in Eastern-Finland) and we left for a 12 day interrail tour throught the countries mentioned in the previous post.

I hope this makes my situation clearer. So I'm staying here at least until end of February. And meanwhile I will exploit the great banks of Germany full of notes for someone to enter! So beware - you may have a hit me in the near future. 8)

@Phaseolus: I was really lucky with those ones. 300 notes resulted in two international hits. I'm as amazed as you. :D

My girlfriend bought something to eat from that shop. I in Bordeaux only some 10-15 notes. Most of them were left to Hotel Etap just next to the Main Railway Station, where we stayed one night (nice brand new hotel with cheap rates, by the way).

I'm sorry to tell you, but we had just few hours to spend at Bordeaux. We arrived there pretty late, so we checked in to the hotel and then walked to the centrum. The area near hotel was quite filthy-looking ghetto and we found it a bit scary (one local told us not to go there at night). But the city center was nice. It got dark so we had a change to roam the main pedestrian streets in night lighting. The palaces and old buildings near the river were very beautiful. Too bad we didn't have time to see them closer in day light.

Around 22:00 we took a tram from centrum to our hotel. We had to travel without tickets since there were instructions only in French. The trams in Bordeaux looked brand new and very clean. We left Bordeaux at 10:20 next morning after shopping some snack at a nearby Spar and sending some postcards at the post office.

It's possible we visit Bordeaux again sometime, because there seemed to be a lot to see. Maybe when we have a car and were going to/from Spain or something. I hope you find one of my notes later. :)
