Greece and Germany >>> strange combination???

Today at my work (school) we had a huge charity. The only link I found is from 1999:
http://www.wereldkinderen.nl/projecthul ... lyceum.htm
By the end of the day we had 8000+ Euro with much more to come.
I collected the money for 3 classes. I've written down 74 notes, then I got tired.
I also got to help counting the money. I was the only one counting with the serial numbers up

As soon as I discovered a rare note (for the NL) e.g. Finnland, Ireland, Portugal, Greece > all the "borderstates", I would copy the numbers.
Here I came across something VERY strange. I found a note with:
schortcode: P005H6
and
Serialnumber: Y00XXXXX4XXX
This note is from Greece, but printed in Germany
Who can explain this phenomena? I'm sure I have the Shortcode + Serialnumber right: I looked 3 times.
Thanks,
Wouter

I can!
Look at "complete lijsten"/"complete lists",click "tables" ald look for yourself at row P and column 5 euro!
This is quite usual! For example, look at the 10 euro bills from the Netherlands! The greater part of them have a shortcode starting with P!
And there are more examples in the table!

Greece let Germany print a large part of their notes. when you look at
the entered greek notes you see that only about 50% of them has a shortcode starting with N (which is the bank of greece) there are a lot of short codes starting with P or G and F

I like the expression! do you think in 10-20 years the "border states" will be the same? I guess Portugal has no competitor, but what about Ireland/Iceland; Finland/Russia or the most probable change Greece/Turkey...
well, unless Morocco join the euro too.. but I would say Portugal is the only border state for life

In notes entered Portugal is not a borderstate for me: I have entered about 20 notes. Greece is OK too: about 8.
Finnland and Ireland are real borderstates: I have only 3 notes each

(I have a total of 951 notes)
What suprises me is the vast amount of Austrian notes. For such a small country I get a lot: 20+ notes!!

The reason probably is that there are a lot of high denomination notes in the Austrian ATM's. When you get € 100 from an ATM in Germany, you always get a lot of small notes (normally 50+20+10+10+5+5), but in Austria, they have no problem dispensing one note of €100. And in shops the accept it without comment!

I have some Finnish (7) and Irish notes (13) but only 2 Portuguese notes!
I also have only 12 Austrian notes, and I have 2133 notes at this moment.
So VERY few Austrian and Portuguese notes !
