False coin??

Post by Jes »

I have recived an e-mail wich says that there is a "false" and a "true" coin. it's the 2 euro commemorative coin from Monaco, year 2007.

I am not interested on that coins (just because it is not in circulation) but, does anyone have got more information about this?

Hi Jes,

Actually there are 2 coins issued.
First of all the commemorative 2 euro coin from monaco with the pic of Princes Grace onto it (for a pic see the following link: http://www.ecb.int/bc/euro/coins/comm/h ... 07.en.html) See the commemorative issue of Monaco.
That coin is valid in all euro-countrys with a value of 2 euro, but only a fool would pay with it because the coin costs about 220-260 euros.

Another coin is also issued, a so called pattern or essai (trail coin) with a similar design, but could be recognised easaly as a non-official eurocoin. I could not insert a pic here at the moment (don't now how to do that). But if you put a search for it (monaco 2 euro princes grace essai on ebay for example you defently could find a pic of the essai coin yourself). Exctually only the general site of the coin differes a lot in comparison with the original one.

Greetings, Martin

I will be looking for another picture in which it will apear the other face of the coin...

Well, about the image, it is very simple:

When posting, you will find a button (on the top wright part of the "post reply menu") in which is writen Img.

then, you have to put the URL direction of the picture (it must be uploaded previously, or you have to look for it elsewhere on the internet)

Finaly, click again on the same button (Img*)

your text will apear like this:

Code: Select all

...

...
of course, you can write the "[ Img ]" code by your self as well !!!

And also you can use the "Quote" Button to make citations. For instance:
Hi Jes,

acctually I never seen that first pic before :?
the underline, Italic or Bold letters are used in the same way as well as the FONT SIZE and the COLOUR of your text.

I hope this is useful for you!

so there is one real coin:

and at least three fake designs: the two which Jes posted, and this one:

you find the difference? The stars are turning!

But Jes, are these real coins that you posted? The outer ring is exactly the same on these two images, so at least one of them was made on a computer
