My personal opinion is that we will never have them
I also like very much the coins as u may see in other topics
Let me know the reasons of your choice

I would like to have them , my wallet would be not so heavy beacause of all those little coins !

Handling notes takes more time than handling coins. I'm sure everyone of you have noticed it by yourselves.

It would also mean that at least I could no more enter all my banknotes, as it would simply take too much time. Or, I would have to revert to entering them by computer, which then again means worse comments.

Also, it is far more expensive printing notes than minting coins, which means less money for everything else.

I'd like to have them as additional money, so you can go to your bank and ask for some notes, while most people still pay with coins. Then it would be exactly the same as with 5-Deutsche-Mark notes or 20-CZK notes

In Italy or Greece the people will pay with notes but can go to the bank and ask for coins, this would be the same as with 50-CZK coins or in some way with 10€ coins

I don't think it's a so big difference, and I think most people in the euro zone will still use the coins, so the costs of some extra notes will not be that much

I don't like the idea of the small notes at all. I know in Italy some politicians have wanted 1 and 2 Euro notes, but in my opinion, they would cost too much to print as compared to minting coins. I also don't mind having coins instead of notes. I generally dislike carrying a wallet and having notes in it, and I'm always afraid of losing notes from my wallet. At least when a coin falls by accident and hits the ground you can hear it.
I also like how the one and two Euro coins especially have enough value, that with just a small coin wallet that is not too heavy, you can have 20 or 30 or 40 Euros inside. More than enough for a dinner and drinks or a night out.
In the USA they use 1 and 2 Dollar bills, but 2 is very rare to even see, and normally if you want one, you must ask the bank for it. It's never used. (They don't use the decimal system like we do in Europe) i.e. instead of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, etc. they use a quarter percentage system - 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100. They have 1 dollar coins, but they are never used. Everyone is so used to using the one dollar bills, that the one dollar coins are just a novelty you have to ask for at the bank. The coins over there are also virtually valueless, so to have the equivalent of having 20 or 30 or 40 dollars in change in your pocket, would weigh so much it would be difficult to keep your pants from falling down.

People allways spoil banknotes... but coins. It wouldn't be eficent economicaly I think.

with cents, yes, but they do have a 20-dollars note
and it's still called decimal - the only country with non-decimal currency is Madagascar, where one "something" is worth 5 "littles"

It has been caused because the previous currency was the Madagascar Franc and now the concurrency is the "Ariary" whose exchange rate is 1Aryary = 500 Francs I think... May be it is 1Fr=50Aryary... well, anyway, I think it has been done to "help" people to make the changeover.

No thanks, I prefer the coins. If the Swiss have coins worth 5 CHF, it shouldn't be a problem for our 2 EUR coins...

and if the Slovak have 20-Korun notes worth 50 cent, it will be a one-sided view to say that all can be happy with our system. Why don't we have some diversity?

But what's our gain? More notes to enter? It's not enough to convince me.
It's more expensive, we 're used to the coins, by now, and the coins are just enough for me, not too big, not to small.

The €1- and €2-notes would taken out of circulation too soon to have a chance for a hit.

So it might be more notes to enter, but less chance for a hit (actually, that's why you keep on entering them).

I think they would give more hits. Not with big time difference, but as they are circulating much faster, more people will have them and more will enter them. And many people who don't have much money with them would finally always have some notes to enter, and IIRC on Where's George the one dollar note has the most hits. So for EBT it would be a very good choice to have only 1€ notes and no 1€ coins.
But still, I would not give up the coins, for the same reason that some countries are used to notes, others are used to coins.

The proposal of the creation of 1 and 2 euro - notes is an absurdity invented from the minister of finances of the previous government, with some falsities, for a mediatic disinformation campaign: this campaign was finalized to guilt the opposition of the increase of the prices happened during the change of cash lira - euro, introducing the euro like guilty for its same existence like currency of these increases in order to giving the responsibility to the political adversaries of the imaginary "guilt" of the Italy to EMU.
