There are some cases in which it is clear that the hits should be moderated:
- Serialist hits (someone enters long lists of (fake) serial numbers in order to get a hit.
- Everything to do with Pitler, Fr@uke/R@lf, woombel (aka Woombelism) like this or this
- 3 (or more) hit notes with only 2 people (like this
- hits between 2 people within like 24 hours but a distance of 1000 km
- hits with people in obvious fake countries like Vatican or Montenegro
- obvious fakes when notes are published somewhere like this
there are also hits in which case there might be some doubt
- hits in a short period of time. Like within 24 hours in the same town these hits can be real. but don't seem to be very interesting.
- Hits in the same town. Like two heavy users living in the same area, they will hit each other a lot.
- Hits within the family, one enters a note and his brother enters the same some hours later (I do think these should be moderated)
- there are a lot more of this sort but ii just can't think about them now...
Hits that shouldn't be moderated
- interesting hits over a long period of time or distance.
- international hits.
We should concentrate our discussion on the ‘doubt’ cases.
We can also discuss about how we want to show the hits on this site.
There are several options:
- Only an interesting Hit list (like now)
- A total hit list with al real hits.
- A list with truly interesting hits (long time/distance/international) and a separate list with al real hits (maybe there can be a link on the start page to the 3 latest hits).
I know this seems a bit of a boring and long story but I think we should now make good and adequate moderation methods.
