Track your keystrokes

Post by Craco » Sun Aug 24, 2003 12:20 pm

Hi everybody,

Just found this little fun project: http://www.project-dolphin.nl/
It basically counts the number of keystrokes you make.

To participate go to: http://www.project-dolphin.nl/ and register first. After this you can download the pulse-program which counts your keystrokes and sends it to the server.

I did also create a team for EBT: "Eurobilltracker.com". If you wish you can join this team, so that we can climb more in the statistics.
To join the team, you have to log in at the site and click on Teams. Further you click on Search/Join a team -> Search for "Eurobilltracker.com" and click on join. 8) (The id of our team is 2259)

Remember, it's just a fun project, but if we have enough members that participate, we might get noticed and get some members for EBT. :D

One last thing, i know you can have also an image showing your ranking and number of keystrokes. You can find mine here: http://www.jvandijken.com/dolphin/stats.php?uid=16577 . I just have to find a way to show it in my signature. [edit] it's simple the code is as follows:
""
Have fun all.. Sorry for the lengthy post, but must have some keystrokes :P

There are other eurobilltacker teams already, search for 'euro' on the teams page.

Why do these programs always have to be windows-only? Don't they understand that if people learn to write with a keyboard, they also learn o use a more sophisticated OS? ;)

Yes i know it's sick :D. Do you know i found another program today that you can use and it also calculates the distance your mouse is doing. It does not have the stats online or so, just a tool you can download, but it didn't work together with my dolphin, so i stopped using it. Anyway some might be interested: http://users.pandora.be/eclypse/mousotron.html

Yes please ask the webmaster to clear all your notes, so you can re-enter those and get many keystrokes :P

I wish he had more clients. The linux-client is on his todo-list.. Why don't we ensure that everybody get rid off Windows, than they'll start by doing the linux-client first.. I'm pretty fed up by Windows after one week of struggling at work with virusses all over the place..

you're in the lead already.. nice start.. :D I was trying to install it on my work-computer, but for some reason it doesn't work, might be a proxy-thing. They are working on the proxy and stuff since the virus-week..

You just type and the program counts the number of keystrokes. Depending on your program settings (right click on the symbol in the system tray), the count is sent automatically or manually.
If you need more information, just ask.. :)

I registered sometime ago, but I'm not running the client right now. It was running in my computer in Lisboa. Once I finish my holidays, get back there and fix my computer, I'll join the team. I promise! ;)
