Idee: diffusiekaart

As a clarification, the scale has been tuned so that the maximum value will always be that same shade of red. It is very unlikely that the map would some day start showing mostly red, as there will always be areas that will have more users or notes than the other areas. A more reasonable goal would be that there would be more places covered with blueish/greenish dots.tinka wrote:I hope in time it will turne more red than it is doing now
At the moment the brightest red equals 700 users, the average green equals 30 users and blue equals less than 5 users. The numbers for the bill map are currently 35000 for red, 150-250 for green and less than 10 for blue.

OK, I'll stop tweaking the new map soon
but I've changed the grid size a bit so that the blocks are bigger and thus cover a bigger area than before. This had to be done because some of the southern European cities were shown as just one or two pixels and it was a bit difficult to determine what colour the block really was. The reason why the blocks appear taller in north than in south is because the map uses Mercator projection which stretches the northern areas somewhat. In real life, all the blocks are actually the same size, it just shows the sizes differently on the map.
The map now also shows land and sea areas in different colours.
