Program of the S-EBT meeting 2010 in Florence, may be found here

Post meeting trip in Pisa

Monday 26th of July, after the meeting, a post-meeting trip in Pisa is organized.
Pisa is surely less expensive than Florence, and it is about 1h of train far away.
Arriving in Pisa about at 11;00 , we can move to Piazza dei Miracoli (the leaning tower) by bus (ticket: 1,00 E) and visit until 13;00.
Typical launch at about 15-20 E for person, then visit to the downtown. Pisa downtown is full of little medieval churches... and of banks ;-)

People who are interested to the post meeting in Pisa may registrate on this topic.
Deadline 20/07/2010, because I have to make the restaurant reservation.

Hmm, my flight back to Brussels leaves at 14:45 from Florence airport, so I'm afraid I can't come to Pisa...

If you look at the dotmap, there is a small piece of land, west of the dot for Pisa. The village Marina di Pisa is located there.

Is there a possibility to include Marina di Pisa in the trip to Pisa? Is there a possibility to get there by bus?

Yes, it is: we can do it in the afternoon, because it's about 20 minutes by bus. In July there are many bus going to the sea, because it is holiday time: the only problem is that the coming back may be a little uncomfortable, but if you want this dot....

Dear friends, if someone of you is interested to visit not only medieval buildings, but also a bank for changing money, we can arrange that.
Let me know, and I will organize a tour banks included

How do banks react on changing money? Is it the same as in Malta (please, why are you wasting our time?) or like in Austria where they will do anything you ask?

I think it will be interesting for me to visit two banks: first get high value notes, then get :note-5: again

It depends: banks are not equal. But I know banks in Pisa, and on our tour we will find some "good" banks.

I don't know how much you want change: something like 2-3 x :note-50:  20-30 x :note-5: no problems, something like 10-15 x :note-50:  100-150 x :note-5: ... it can be problematic!
