The Hitroute Game

Ok, there are many games out there and this is a new one. However, in contrast to most games this will have a minimum connection to the EBT site and its functions. To be honest I have been inspirde by the traceroot command which will show you how traffic 'travels'...

In contrast this game is about finding a route from a given city profile A to another given city profile B. Find a way to 'connect' both cities by hits that are stored within the system and include at least one of your own hits. As this might be somehow unfair for users living near city profile B you are also allowed to find a way in the opposite direction (from B to A), however you also need to include one of your own hits as well. To raise the difficulty level furthermore you need to pay attention on the direction of the hits - you are only allowed to follow the points where a note had been entered in chronological order.
Hence a Hit from Washington D.C. to Moscow might not be followed in reverse direction from Russia to the US.
If you finally found a way connecting A and B add up the number of days from all hits you used. Then add up the number of points where your notes have been entered*. Similary add up the distance and finally post your results in this topic (including the hits themselves as we might see all those beautiful hits you found...).

*If you follow an n-tupel hit count one 'hop' for each track you follow them - thus following this hit http://en.eurobilltracker.eu/notes/?id=86683582" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; from Spain to Pori makes up two 'hops'

Old rules:
Ok, now let's come to the goal of the game: Try to find a way requiring a minimum number of days. If there are two or more users finding a route with the same amount of days required the less number of hops (hits) will decide whome is placed higher, if still equal the longer distance will determine the winner.

New rules:
Ok, now let's come to the goal of the game: Try to find a way having the highest speed (number of km divided by number of days). If there are two or more users finding a route with the same speed the less number of hops (hits) will decide whome is placed higher, if still equal the longer distance will determine the winner.

The user having found the best route after one week = 7 days = 168 hours =... will have the right to set the next city profiles to find a route between.

Ok, let's get out of theory - to start let's find a way between
Helsinki :flag-fi: and
Lisboa :flag-pt:
OK now I wanna see your routes 8)

Eh yes, and here's my solution (should be beatable btw):
#1
Helsinki :flag-fi: -> Vantaa :flag-fi: 32days 16km
http://en.eurobilltracker.eu/notes/?id=87492173" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
#2
Vantaa :flag-fi: -> Hannover :flag-de: 625days 1288km
http://en.eurobilltracker.eu/notes/?id=56430586" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
#3
Hannover :flag-de: -> Bergen op Zoom :flag-nl: 395days 385km
http://en.eurobilltracker.eu/notes/?id=55827554" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
#4
Bergen op Zoom :flag-nl: -> Amadora :flag-pt: 354days 1765km
http://en.eurobilltracker.eu/notes/?id=18498732" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
#5
Amadora :flag-pt: -> Lisboa :flag-pt: 8days 7km
http://en.eurobilltracker.eu/notes/?id=81453654" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hops: 5
Days: 1414
km: 3461

:flag-be:Zaventem-Frielas :flag-pt:
1708 km - 339 days
:flag-pt:Frielas-Lisboa :flag-pt:
4 km - 8 days

3 hops - 3347 km - 352 days

So, what if I say:

:flag-fi: Helsinki - Lisbon :flag-pt:

8 days - 1 hoop - 3356 km

I think the rules may be changed to avoid "siliness" on this game.
I suggest the following change:

Better:

The objetive will be to find a best ratio Km/day (id est: longer distance with less time wins) If there are two or more users finding a route with the same "speed", then the less number of hops will determine the winner.

What do you think?

Well as I stated you need to include at least one of your own hits. Hence your given route is only valid for the users Nehatu and Santos:

I also thought of awarding the distance of the whole route but - hinestly spoken - i did not come to my mind that the 'speed' of the route might be a nice idea. I just wanted to prevent users from 'self awarding' by setting two cities that are nearby in order for them to have a better chance to win the next routing competition. I think speed should be the primary factor - let's implement that criteria in the following competition i.e. the 2nd. Any comments to that?

OH! Ok, I didn't notice that :oops: Sorry.

I have a hit Lisbon - Lisbon. Is valid for this game?

Well every hit that is not moderated is valid. However, you need to go from Helsinki to Lisbon or the other way round (Lisbon to Helsinki).
Thus Jes' Hit combined with yours is a valid combination as you than included at least one of your hits:
Helsinki - Lisbon ; Lisbon - Lisbon (your hit)

Ok it's up to bhoeyb to set up the next pair of cities.

Note the changeing of rules:
This time (and the following times) the speed will be the primary factor (the faster the better).
In case of draw the lower number of hops will decide a winner - is still equal the longer distance will decide.

OK, 2 of my favorite cities: from Trujillo in Spain to Tartu in Estonia.
I'm not going to add a route myself this time. Good luck!

First try :

:flag-es: Truijllo > :flag-be: Vorselaar > :flag-be: Vorselaar 44 days
:flag-be: Vorselaar > :flag-be: Hechtel 87 days
:flag-be: Hechtel > :flag-fi: Vihtavuori 30 days
:flag-fi: Vihtavuori > :flag-fi: Helsinki 13 days
:flag-fi: Helsinki > Image Tartu 1 day

175 days, including 87 day of my own hit (Vorselaar > Hechtel)
