Hey all!
I'm trying to be back on the forum
Well i have a question: today I've received a dutch (P) 10€ note with "ABN AMRO" well printed on it. I wondered what it was and entered it but that wansn't a hit. So does anybody know what it is? Anybody else has seen such a mark on a note?
Thx all

Oh yeah...
That's weird, I don't understand why banks mark notes...
A few weeks ago I got a note with a phone number printed, as it was from Belgium I looked it up in the inverted Golden Pages and is saw that it was the phone number of the ING bank in Florenville.
It was kind of a hit for me hehe; Florenville - Verviers = about 130 km by motorway.

Once, I had a Dutch bill with a Dutch phonenumber. I didn't called it but I wrote it down as a comment.
No, I'm not going to search that bill entry between all my others

.
I had also a note with a
love letter, a supermarket list,
many numbers, ... and a protest stamp -see scan-.

So do I have. Perhaps a bill with a number was on top of a pile of bills, and
the number means the number of bills of that pile.

I recently got this German note:
http://www.eurobilltracker.eu/index.php ... id=1479226
It had "Filiale Neu.........burg " stamped on it. It's a shame so many of the letters were unreadable. It would have been nice to know the origin.

Filiale Neubrandenburg ?
BTW I once got a note stamped by a German bank. I could only read:
.................
78 AB...................ungen

I think sometimes a bank puts a stamp on the 'lias' (paper around a bundle of banknotes). Sometimes, they stamp the first banknote too.

Thanks for the tip, Airis! Neubrandenburg has the right length. I didn't try find the place, because Germany must be full of places beginning with "neu" and ending with "burg". OK, OK, I was too lazy.
I hope the mystery of AB.......ungen is someday revealed. There must other notes with same stamp circulating somewhere..

They're everywhere. For example, I think they're one of the biggest, if not thé biggest, banks in Brazil...

BTW, this reminded me of what is the biggest text you see right away when you arrive Helsinki by train (for example from Moscow). On a house's roof there's the text "Deutsche Bank" in quite a big font :)
I'm not sure if it's visible anymore because they've built a lot of this and that around the railway station building (thus ruining its architechtural importance).
