Hey,

While surfing on the internet, I came across another Euroforum and it showed a very strange bill. It's sort of missprinted...

Look here

I remember we had a discussion about this a long time ago. Apparently some uncut note sheets can be bought. Some people buy them and cut them themselves in order to get more money out of them.

That's all I seem to remember from that discussion. :?

The German producers of the eurobills (P and R) sell entire sheets of bills.
Some people cut them on a wrong place to make money, so don't buy such a
bill if it is most probably printed by P or R! My mother had a wrong cut bill
herself, but then different, it had this shape:

Code: Select all

|---------------------|
| |
 \ /
  | |
  |-----------------|
Unfortunately my mother had spent the bill before I was able to interchange it!

Couldn't we check some stuff about our printer code algoritms by getting a sheet like that and then checking what code is in which note?

To get more money out of them?? How can that be done? A sheet of 60 notes just contains just 60 notes, no less no more, or am I wrong?
How could the amount of notes be increased by cutting differently?

That is because a wrong cut bill cost more than a bill that is cut normal

Code: Select all

------------ _________
      |5 |5 |
    5| | |
------------ |_______5_|

The left bill will cost you more than the 5 euro from the right bill

Because those who don?t know that cutting bills is done, think it is something special, something that is very rare. Like a misprint.

And some might also think it is an art. Go figure.

I saw this in a Finnish newsgroup last month:

Pretty much the same error, but just for the hologram stripe.

In fact this is a lot more interesting because a hologram cutting error can't be "forged" like the note above probably was.

Yes, this is a real collectors item!
