I have a 20 Euro bill that was taken out of an ATM in the Netherlands on January 1st, 2002, 5 minutes after midnight. It is missing the holographic band on one side. It is in mint condition. Does anyone know if this is worth anything?
Thanks.

I once got a €5 that had no holographic strip - it had a blue hue and I suspect it was washed in with someones jeans.
I took it back to the bank a few days later and they gave me a proper one, though the clerk did spend a few minutes analysing it and running it through a note-checking machine.
My advice: don't try to spend - as I doubt any retailer will take it - but take it to your bank for examination and exchange.
By The Way, make sure you enter the note (with a comment) on EBT.

a small correction

I'm not sure why you felt it necessary to interject this as this thread is somewhat old now, and I hope that the OPs situation has since been resolved.
I was in the exact same position not long beforehand and I did what I wrote in my post and got a satisfactory outcome.
Please explain why you disagree with my suggestion - you were somewhat vague.

I don't think you can call a 5-days-old topic "old" when it contains a question about a note that the asker has been owning for ~3456 days
going to a bank and exchanging the note for a new one is definitely not what janaki will do

Oops - I missed the "5 minutes after midnight, January 1st 2002" part.
I thought it was something the OP had got recently, as I had only briefly scanned the post. Needless to say I feel a little bit silly now

I have a mint condition 5 Euro bill, I was given it from a french bank the same week the euro was being introduced. the strange thing about it is that it is only printed on one side. Anyone have an idea of the value?
Sorry for using an old thread.
