Those of you who rent accomodation - how much rent do you pay?
I live in a country notorious for its high prices, and I feel that in other countries people pay significantly lower rents. But maybe I'm wrong!

I have a double bedroom in a three-bedroom apartment, and I pay €500 a month for this.

I've got a 12m^2 room and I pay 206€/month for it.
The rent includes water, 256/256 ADSL and electricity.
The kitchen, living room and two WCs (with shower in each one) are shared with three other people.
The apartment is in the 2nd floor of a four-floored building owned by HOAS (the Helsinki area student-apartment foundaution). It's 800m away from a metro station (a bus rund between it and the station) and the very orange metro trip to downtown Helsinki takes a bit less than 20 minutes.

I live in a student flat with my girlfriend. She is still officially student.

We pay 420 euros per month. It's 46 sqm; we have a kitchen, living room, toilet/shower room and bed room. We have also a very small garden-like. Heating, water and electricity are included in the rent.

Actually the rent is not really low here. You can find cheaper and better ones in free market. Accommodation is quite cheap here in Turku compared to for example Helsinki, Tampere, Jyväskylä and Oulu.

My girlfriend pays € 250 for a two bedroom appartment (80 m2). She also has a basement (20 m2) and a garden (110 m2). Pretty cheap! :D

It's hard to find a place where rent isn't low... I pay 410 euro/month for an appartment with large livingroom, kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms. I'm the center of Hasselt if I walk 5 minutes, and if I take my bicycle I'm 10 minutes away from work, so I certainly don't pay too much rent.

You can check out www.immoweb.be or www.hebbes.be if you want to have an idea of prices that are asked in Belgium. I have to add that real-estate companies advertise on these sites, and their prices are often (well, in fact almost) higher than private persons.

Hebbes.be is in dutch (and french): te huur=for rent, slaapkamers=bedrooms.

but it will be cheaper soon. from august my brother will take one of my rooms and we`ll share the living room. so i`ll have tp pay half the rent and extra costs then :D :D

:( Just as I suspected!

Our whole apartment costs €1300 per month, which I am sure is incredibly high for some of you out there. Here in Ireland this is about an average price. Mind you, it is quite bit - around 150 sqm, and has two balconies, but I still feel this price is way above the EU average!

How much is an Irish salary, then?

I guess the lowest annual income would be €20,000, but a good salaray is considered to be over €30,000. Among people my age (25) the average seems to be €27,000 - 28,000

Rent includes water and electricity (witch is good because we have 5 computer running 24h  ). The neighbourhood is peaceful and we have forest just next to us. I like it very much here. :P

Sheesh! 8O

If I remember correctly my little brother lives in a 74 sqm apartment (two large bedrooms, kitchen, living room and sauna (of course 8) )) in Joensuu (a city in south-east, near Russian border) with his friend and they pay about 200 € per head (And that's not a student apartment, he used to live in one with three other student, but he moved with one of his room-mates nearer to their school).
