Hong Kong Safe Deposit Boxes thrown away.............

Aiyeee!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just when I thought it can't get any worse, I found out yesterday from the Mei Foo branch of DBS bank that our safe deposit box was thrown away! Last week, it turns out the bank was renovating, and was supposed to throw out 900 boxes. Our box was thrown out in ignorance along with 82 others. The boxes were sent to a scrapyard and compressed. We didn't have too much in there, we lost a few rings, and a my euro note collection is gone. The bank did recover some fragments of my euro collection, but no sign of the rings. We were offered HK$150,000 compensation. I don't know what to say, I'm just absolutely disgusted that our safe deposit boxes were thrown away.

Sue the bastards.... it is absolutely illegal to throw away personal belongings being a bank.... And mostly since there are items involved that are so personal that you will never be able to find them again...

Couldn't believe it if I was you. This was probably very big news in Hong Kong. No excuse is right for that... This sh*t is totally unacceptable. Even though the compensation is a big sum of money (15 000€ if I'm right?) that is just a joke.

I can't believe this, but it must be true because it's been widely reported in the news. Words aren't enough to describe this stupidity.

Last week in the Netherlands we had a story where a public prosecutor thought that his personal computer was infected by a virus and put it with the other garbage at the street side. Picked up by a taxi-driver and delivered to a crime-journalist al his sensitive info about important hi-profile cases were now public.

I thought that was the stupidest thing I ever was to experience, but losing those safe boxes beats everything.

Here we've got a man to whom absolutely everything possible and impossible seems to happen. He moves here and there around the globe and gets in all kinds of accidents and happenings. Impressing, I must say.
