OK, time to bump this topic. It appears that phpBB v3.1 has some CSS that crops the logo to 149x52 pixels:
I worked around this problem by using the "paw" logo from EBT (which I don't particularly like myself, btw):
If you can think of something nicer that would fit in 149x52 pixels, let us know. Yes, it'd also be possible to simply shrink the image to the specified limits, or adjust the CSS so that it would allow for bigger pictures. I'm open to suggestions, but I prefer something that would not need modifications to the CSS file. The size seems to be hardcoded in CSS.
