They are actually quite good-looking. Although I'd prefer if they used at least three different motives.

On this note, we have entirely too many threads dedicated to new/future Euro Zone members scattered across the forum...

In the original plans Lithuania would have to join monetary union in 2007, which then was not able to do because high inflation, so it had already coined 10,000 series with that date that does not seem to have been destroyed.

The European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs preliminary approved of the euro adoption in Lithuania
The European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) on 7 April preliminary approved of the adoption of the euro in Lithuania on 1 January 2015.
ECON noted that Lithuania, in terms of all of its economic data for the winter of 2014, was in compliance with all euro adoption criteria.
Should Lithuania successfully meet the Maastricht criteria and in June 2014 gets a positive evaluation from the European Commission and the European Central Bank, in the summer of 2014 a decision should be adopted on the exact date for the adoption of the euro in Lithuania and the ultimate, irrevocable rate of exchange of litas into euro.
The EU Council will adopt this decision after consulting with the European Parliament and after the European Council discusses whether Lithuania is meeting the criteria laid down in the Maastricht Treaty.

Nice. Is is too soon for a "Lithuanian coins found outside Lithuania" thread?

No. But it is too early for a "Lithuanian
euro coins found outside Lithuania".
While things look good this time (unlike 2006/07
http://www.delfi.lt/verslas/verslas/sus ... d=63718730), the convergence reports are not out yet, let alone the final Council decision. Just wait a little ...
