The S-EBTM 2019 is just over, so you can start thinking about the Winter EBT Meeting of next year.

In this topic, you can volunteer to organize Winter EBT Meeting 2020.

Because this year there was enough time to organise both the Winter- and the Summer-meeting (unlike previous years), the BoD wishes also the next Winter meeting to be organized not too late.
The best period would be in the winter, so up until the end of March.

Requirements/conditions/guidelines for organizers:

• Two organizers or more. One will be appointed as the main organizer
• The main organizer is at least 21 years old
• The main organizer should be able to communicate in English
• At least one of the organizers should have participated in an official international Eurobilltracker meeting
• At least one of the organizers should live in or know the city where the event will take place very well
• At least one of the organizers should have organized a national EBT meeting

Requirements/conditions/guidelines for candidate city:

• The city should have a certain touristic appeal. International EBTM participants will stay for more than one day and they should be able to see more things than they will see on the meeting day.
• The city should be located near an international airport.
• The city should have a railroad station, preferable an international railroad station
• There should be youth hostels nearby where people can stay cheap
• There should be a few restaurants which are able to have a large group of people eating there or two/three restaurants located near each other which can handle some smaller groups.

Remember this a checklist. If a candidate doesn't match all of these conditions, it still can be a candidate to organize an official international eurobilltracker meeting.
Still, the more requirements a candidate-organizing team has, the more credibility the candidacy has.

To have some time for the organizers, please post your candidacy before 13th October 2019 (18:00 WEST; 19:00 CEST; 20:00 EEST).
At that time the boardmeeting starts and we can decide where the meeting will be held (or decide for a poll if there are more nominations).

Together with Crazy Bob I would like to propose Luxembourg for the winter meeting of 2020.

Why Luxembourg?

• There has not been a meeting in Luxembourg yet. At least, we couldn't find evidence for it.
• Luxembourg is a wonderful country. It's like Switzerland, only a bit lower and with Euro.
• There is not enough activity in Luxembourg. More than enough reason to bring Euros to Luxembourg, spend Euros in Luxembourg and take Euros home from Luxembourg
• Free public transport! Starting March 1st 2020 all public transport in Luxembourg is free of charge
• You now can get in acceptable numbers from the bank. We recently found out that ING Luxembourg dispenses up to 50 in one go. Previously this was only 3.

Luxembourg airport has direct flights to Milan, Vienna, Lisbon, Barcelona, Nice, Bordeaux, Porto to name a few places and Luxembourg train station has direct trains from Paris, Brussels, Koblenz.

We propose the weekend of 7/8 March.

Both of us have plenty experience with organizing meetings, such as the WEBTM 2015 in Cyprus.

I love the idea of Luxembourg as a destination, but unfortunately, the proposed weekend is just impossible for me. Such a pity. I used to live in Luxembourg for a while and would have loved to go back for an EBT meeting.

An EBTM in Luxembourg is a great idea. I'm studying the possibilities but I think there's a high chance for me to be able to go.
