EBTM 2026 candidate: Nürnberg

I don't think that the intention to try to organize 2 meetings per year it's still the "way to go".
We can start by 1 meeting per year (back to the origins) and see how it will go.

I suggest to recycle this topic, removing the "W-", adjust the selection dates and make it a "EBTM 2026" Post candidacy
With this said, and if I'm still excused:

I would like to nominate Nürnberg to host the "EBTM2026" on 06/June/2026.
(it is a potential 4-days-weekend in many european countries, but the main Event will take place on Saturday)

Now, the requisites:

About the City:
- Nürnberg has an airport close to the city center with low-cost and non-low-cost companies (Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, ...) flying to NUE;
- well connected by train. It's a crossing-point for multiple ICE (fast trains) and regional trains [there is inclusively a direct ICE connection from Frankfurt airport (FRA) to Nürnberg, and a direct regional train from München city center (S-Bahn from MUC to central station)];
- for the Dot Hunters: 4 dots can be added to your personal account. All of them perfectly reachable with a 20 min local public transport from the main train station (I intend to visit 2 dots during the meeting);
- (it's not in the requisites, but) for the Beer "collectors", usually there is a Beer Fest that lasts for 5 days around this time of the year (free entry; live music in multiple stages; "kids land");

About the Organizer:
- for now, I'm the single organizer, but if some fränkisch EBTr would like to co-organize the meeting, it is much welcome;
- I participated in multiple international and national EBT meetings before. I already organized the W-EBTM2016:Dublin;
- I don't live in Nürnberg but I'm familiar with the city;
- About the age requisit, let's say that I'll be 10 years older than I was back in Dublin's EBTM

In 2026, this will be the 1st EBTM since and joined the Eurozone. It might happen that we'll have 2 coutry premiers (representants) for the 1st time in an EBTM

I will definitely attend this EBTM if I can. I may have renovation works at my house by June, but I hope to know it for sure by January or February at the most.

Amazing and thanks for putting this up. I will definitely try to attend and wanted to ask if should also share/push this in other places that are (might be) more actively visited, because at least from the younger generations and newer trackers very few check this forum. So I was thinking to share it in the EBT Discord Server, in the EuroCoins Discord server and in some EBT Whatsapp groups. If that's fine for you or you first want to wait to have more details available?

Great idea! But is the date already fixed? Please keep in mind that it's the "Rock im Park"-weekend in Nuremberg, a large open air festival with some international headliners like Linkin Park, Iron Maiden, The Offspring on saturday.
Basically no criterium to excluse an EBTM, the festival is located in the south-east of Nuremberg, so it should be rather relaxed in the city centre these days. And on the other weekends during the summer there's always some other happening taking place (e.g. FIFA World cup at the following weekends). The main problem should be the increased hotel prices in Nuremberg during that weekend around 300 EUR for a single room instead of 60-70 EUR on the following weekend. Please keep that in mind...

The candidacy is placed. I think that the board is waiting to see if there are more candidates to proceed with the ("The selection is discussed, decided and announced by the board"). (I'm not sure when the board will meet).

When the city is decided, we can open a pool with 2 or 3 dates and we'll take the weekend with more votes.

For AECH:
absolutely. It can be advertised in multiple channels. People are welcome to participate
The "trouble" every time it's to have the number of participants that will attend (to book the restaurant for the dinner), but nothing that a Nürnberger Rostbratwurst in the Street Food will not save the moment

Oh yes, Nürnberg is a good choice. Nice City and some Top-trackers around. But with a festival like this, hotel rooms might be not very available. Better another date?

I participated in the Vienna and Berlin meetings, maybe some other that I've forgotten about already, but today, on this random day, I decided to check the forum again and look what happened!
