1 Euro notes!
1 Euro notes!
Today I read in a portuguese newpaper that an italian minister (Giulio ..?) was going to ask the ECB to produce 1 euro notes to help controling inflation...
what do you think of that?
ps: I know there was already a topic about this, but I couldn't find it ..

He claimed it was a "psychological measure against inflation".
Those Italians are weird...

so in Italy or Greece, where there were notes of 50 and 30 eurocents that psychological effect is a lot bigger I think
we are used to look at coins and see few money, but now it's not so little as before...

In the past, notes were money, and coins were nothing...
you get them as change, or use them in vending machines... but you don't pay with them in a shop
Now those coins really have a vallue...
In Belgium we had a 100Bfr note (2.50euro) and I used that really often.
Now I always have to use 2euro coins.
For me there could be a note of 2euro, but 1 euro is to little.

In France, the coins of 10 francs (1,5 €) had value! We used them very often. There was also a coin of 20 francs (3 €) !Tiger wrote:In the past, notes were money, and coins were nothing...

One thing I find weird... Lots of people don't use the coins of 1, 2 or 5 cents. They put them in a vase... I use them and I think that their use would fight inflation!

I have a little bottle of CocaCola in my room (empty ofcourse :p) and I put every coin in it that goes in there.
That is 1ct 2ct 5ct and 10ct.
I always take them out of my wallet, because I never use them (a drink in the vending machine at school is 40ct or 50ct, so no need for smaller coins than 20ct
).

Maybe the real reason for asking this 1 Euro note was thisBossaNova wrote:Today I read in a portuguese newpaper that an italian minister (Giulio ..?) was going to ask the ECB to produce 1 euro notes to help controling inflation...

There were also coins of 100 francs! But the people were reluctant to accept them in shops...

cool
I know that in Belgium we also had coins of 500Bfr, but they weren't in circulation.
My dad has one, and said me it has a very high value...
I think it's a commemorative coin.
whatever
we didn't use it
