Game of 4 4's

We played this at school many years ago. The task is to count up positive integer numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, ... by forming each of them by using exactly four 4's and using mathematical operators. Maybe this could be played here too... (but it might get tricky very quickly, because I don't remember if every integer can be formed this way very far).

I'll start with two numbers to show the principle, but please continue by only one at a time.

0 = 4-4+4-4
1 = 4/4+4-4
...

You need to use 4 times the 4

5 = (4x4+4):4 will do

:idea: 6 = 4+4/4+4
i think there is no need of parentesis :!:

Probably you mean: (4+4)/4+4 = 6
44/4-4 = 7

8

44/4 is the only way to get to 11, but where do you leave the fourth 4.... 8)

13 = 4 + 4 + 4 + (4/4)

...Using noogie's spare 4 :)

Um... or maybe ((SQRT 44) x 4 ) / SQRT 4 .... nearly
