French EBT Meeting Paris March 4, 2006
Posted: Mon Mar 06, 2006 10:44 am
Just a few words to say that we had, last saturday, a great meeting in Paris with around 25 participants.
The original plans expected less persons, we thought of having lunch together for preparing a bigger event later. It turned out to be an Event on itself and I believe that people were very satisfied.
After having lunch in a Brasserie, we visisted a Coin Museum (Hôtel des Monnaies), which turned out to be disappointing : I am sure that a vast majority of the EBTers present there had more Euros in their own collection than the one presented in the Musuem... (but they had other coins). So, this visit was the weak point of the meeting, and we will try to better plan activities next time (so we have learned something...). So, let's forget about the Museum, and I believe that participants share my viewpoint that the Lunch at the Brasserie and the couple of drinks have leat to nice conversations and exchange of usefull informations.
Amongst the participants, we have welcomed Elmo, bhoeyb, Fons, Haemoglobin, GOLDWOOD, HboZ from Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Thank you for them to have joined the meeting. Thank you especially to Elmo that has explained, in French, the main lines of the programme of the Amsterdam EBTM in August 2006. I am quite confident that some more French EBTers are to be expected to join the next EBTM in Amsterdam.
Foreign visitors have also experienced the difficulty of changing money in Paris. On this point, I want to point out that this explains partially the place of France on the European level within EBT : we have a limited amount of users (nowadays, it is about 4800 users compared to a total population of 62.000.000 inhabitants) AND there is a real mentality problem when it comes to Money in France.
I have sent the photograph of Vévé and myself to the usual address and I believe that these photographs will be published soon. You will be informed of the publication in this topic.
One last word : we created a "Commemorative hit" for the French EBT-Meeting : it is a
that was shared by Sherrysmoon amongst all participants that are welcome to enter it. Obviously it needs to be moderated.
If this
would one day be found back, it would be pure chance ; but a very funny event !
