moderation of hits

Post by Fons »

Yesterday, I got two different hits with Ralf_ebt
0km in 8 days
0km in 21 days

Can someone please tell me why the 0km 8days hits was first moderated, then unmoderated and back moderated.......

If the answer is like 'they are the same' (which I think isn't true). Please also tell me why this doesn't happen to lots of Finnish hits.....

Fons.

edit: the Finnish hits were just an example, I don't want to offend any Finnish user with many hits. It was just because most hits are in Finland. So most of these "double" hits are Finnish too.

In series with the same places only the best one stays. (I believe)

That's right and it does happen to us Finnish users too. Just check my hitlist if you doubt it: http://personal.inet.fi/koti/arathorn/a ... tlist.html

Maybe it's better to continue to complain these events into this thread in the future...

I know this is common practise but a moderated hit doesn't really make you a suspicious user so I also find the title of that thread you mention kind of misleading...

I still see some hits which I think are real in the list. But should be moderated by this rule of 'notes in a serial'.
If it's a rule it should be more clear to all the moderators because it has been moderated and unmoderated twice.

Why? If the hits aren't fake, they don't belong to the thread of fake hits.

Hmmm, I unmoderated the first hit, although it isn't all that interesting.

Unfortunately there are no solid standards for the question when should a hit be moderated if it occurs within a series of other, very similar hits. A 13 day gap is a bit too much IMO for both hits falling into the same class (resulting in the moderation of one hit), my personal margin is around 3-5 days.

Fons is right.
There should be clear rules for moderation!

No it is not. It is one of these serial numbers published somewhere on the internet. Some users can't abstain from entering it at EBT, but it will be moderated very fast, so just ignore it.
