what's in your purse?

Post by groentje »

Do you have a special purse, to sort all your notes? Do you keep photo's of your loved ones? Perhaps you don't have a purse, and you just keep everything (ID-card, driving licence, bank card, money...) into your pockets?

In my purse, you can find my ID-card, SIS card (social security), bank card, library card of Deinze, a Gopass (folded thrice  ), Key Card (another train card), membership card of the Fietsersbond (cyclist's union), blood donor card, three bus cards, one of De Lijn, two of the MIVB (of which one is already used), a small calender and 2 bread cards. Plus money, of course, I have €41,80 at the moment in my purse.

Al this is stored in a small purse, about 6 cm to 10 cm, only 2 compartiments :P

In the card slots:
A business card of an Egyptian archeologist.
European Sickness Insurance card.
Two business cards of the contact person in the work rental company I sometimes work for. (I'll now throw the other one away, it's outdated)
Finnish Sicness Insurance Card.
Library card
Five used Viking Line Helsinki-Tallinn or Tallinn-Helsinki ferry tickets.
A upper secondary school student card, which I have only because its backside has an Euro<26 card printed on it and that card expires as late as in the end of next December.
A "vip" card with which I get a 10% reduction from the best Pakistani restaurant out there. (PM me if you want to find it :D)
First Aid card.
Identity Card
ATM Card (with Visa Electron)
Web Bank password card on which the 13 first passwords have been used.

In the note compartment:
Just helluva lot of old receipts from shops I've /got/ money from :)

In the weird compartment:
Some pieces of paper.
Builder card for Helsinki Motor Show 2005.

Behind the coin pocket:
An old Spanish railway ticket.
A lot of travel card loading receipts from which the text has vanished.
Student card for trains and another one for buses.
The electronic travel card for Helsinki area transportation.

Near the card slots: a picture of my girlfriend.

This is what I have:
  • ID card
  • Driving license
  • Student card (also ATM)
  • Lisboa Viva card (public transportation pass)
  • Unused metro ticket
  • Free coffee cards for a restaurant in my university
  • Documento Único Automóvel (car document)
  • University's timetable
  • Blood type card (A+, btw)
  • Hairdresser card (gives me a free cut after 6 regular haircuts)
  • Old movie tickets
  • Unused metro ticket which says it costs €0,00 (tax included) - but you can't read it anymore, the letters are gone
  • Euro-Escudo converter card (and vice versa), it shows values in escudos when you see it from a certain angle and the same values in euros when you tilt it slightly - I never used it, though
  • Clube SATA card (azorean airline company)
  • Euro<26 card (also ATM)
  • ADSE card (social security)
  • Tax payer card
  • Hippic center card
  • AEIST card (my university's students association) (also ATM)
  • BIST card (my university's library card)
  • and some money, of course :P
My wallet is 9cmx12cm, just enough to fit the huge portuguese ID card (which will hopefully be replaced by a standard size card soon), it measures 11cm by 8,5cm 8O

Edit: Here's a picture :P

What an odd post - I couldn't help myself!

I have:

€20, €10 and 4 x €5
Visa
American Express
Bank Card
Tram card
2 supermarket loyalty cards
AA (automobile association) card
And a small photo of a complete stranger I found lying on the ground in a park in Malmo.

By the way - women use purses, and men have wallets
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Interesting to look into your wallet, isn't it? Just to discover lots of things you already forgot about. :P

Ah, I used to have those two as well. Now my German health insurance card and the EHIC are combined into one card. Apart from that, I have in my wallet ... my driver's license, a credit card and a Maestro card, a HappyDigits card ("rebate" card that can be used in several stores, and also works as a calling card), a GeldKarte (card with a "cash" chip), and an auto club card. All these are credit card sized.

Plus an ID card (75 x 105 mm), and various stuff such as a blood bank pass, an organ donor card, a card with access numbers for the calling card :) and, oh yes, some notes and coins!

Interesting thread. Let's see, then...
  • no coins, no notes
  • a sepia photo of my younger brother's two nieces
  • student meal discount card
  • two bus lines' schedules (14 and 50)
  • a regular checking account bank card
  • Diners Club card
  • three loyal customer cards, for Stockmann, Kesko and SOK stores
  • driver's licence
  • Helsinki and Tampere public transportation ticketing cards
  • a club membership card
  • online banking key code card
  • Finnish Sickness Insurance Card (issued 1991, still going strong :D)
  • Neste Oil credit card (for buying our so beloved gasoline and diesel fossil fuels ;) )
  • student card
  • library card
  • two used movie tickets
  • two Subway "Customer Appreciation Cards", one full, one still missing three stamps
  • entrance ticket to a student party
  • my weekly schedule for studies
  • six prepaid lunch cards for student meals
  • four receipts, from buying diesel, a lottery ticket and groceries
  • Keno lottery ticket
  • work schedules for 10/4 - 30/4 and 1/5 - 21/5.
Last Thursday I found somebody else's bank card from a desk at a grocery store, but I've forgotten to return it to the bank. :? If it wasn't for this thread, It'd probably have been there a lot longer... Gotta return it tomorrow, I wonder if they're not going to pay me something for this, because I haven't returned it "immediately" in order to get a reward, as they state in this card.

So.. Having loyalty cards of that many shops means you must be a super-loyal person! Right?

Just say you found it just a few moments ago. Actually you did, you just found it in your wallet ;) Then if they ask you where you found it, you still don't have to lie. You just say you found it from where you originally actually did. You did get it there, you just happened to lose it later.
Of course this logic does have its small exeptions ;)

Today I bought myself a new wallet. The current was far to small to store all cards and money, so now it's a brown leather thingy I bought on the flee market in Deinze for 6 euros.
Now in my wallet: 2 notes of 5 euro, some loose change, only 2 different traintickets and 2 different buscards (I have taken the full tickets out), my blood donor card, and all the rest of my previous post, plus a code card for online banking, a lottery ticket, and a little post-it with a telephone number on it, that I avoid to call (it's my dietist  )
