I think it's better to let those people jump at the same time, which doesn't seem to be their plan.....

okay, 600 million people, equally distributed all over the world, will jump into the air at the same time. This will give the earth 600 million impulses p1(i) directed to the center of the earth, all neutralizing each other. Impulse change = sum(p1(i),i=1...600000000) = 0
Then the earth pulls back the jumpers, being pulled back to the jumpers by means of reactio. This gives the earth 600 million impulses p2(i) directed away from the center, with double amount of the impulses p1(i): p2(i)=-2*p1(i), so sum(p2(i),i=1...600000000) = -2*sum(p1(i),i=1...600000000) = -2*0
When the jumpers come back to the ground, they give the earth impulses p3(i)=p1(i), which will sum up to 0 again.

So the overall impulse change of the earth will be 0 + -2*0 + 0 = 0*0

This impulse change of 0*0 will catapult the earth away from the solar system and will cause everlasting winter, so please don't do it!

As I said, the website doesn't make people jump at the same time. Because the say you have to jump in a different amount of hours when your from another time zone

Whatever the effect might be, you'll probably have to take into account the large area covered by the Pacific ocean, where people cannot jump.

I guess the timer at the bottom is incorrect. It is probably based on your time settings, so if you live in Australia, the timer will tell you the correct time for Australian time zones.
if I click Berlin, it says 12:39:13 and the counter says 14:35 hours, which will be 13:39:13 :?

Is it just me or there's something wrong with the clock? The jump should occur in Lisbon at local time 11:39, there are now 13h36m remaining. But if I change to Monaco, the jump will occur at local time 12:39 (which is the same moment, as Monaco belongs to CET, and Portugal doesn't), which is 14h36m away!

so at your computer the times are correct, because you have now 10:07 PM

My guess is that the countdown time is based on the calculation (local time - NOW(), without convertions whatsoever) Maybe the server is based on GMT?

Do we have Australian users? And maybe they're asleep right now (except those from the East coast).

We do have this one from Tonga, yet it seems as it's a ghost user.

okay, a user that is 8 hours before europe answered the timer shows "6 hours"
so the timer is based on UTC+1 (Portuguese summer time)
