I found out people were entering bullcrap plate numbers that dont match countries. For example a 20 euro bill(u) printed in portugal?????????? You should get the numbers to match and it would be right

I tested it out with a 50E bill from france that was printed in the Banque de france-chamalieres and I entered a spain number and it ended up accepting!

Yes, isn't it so, that the system checks both the shortcode and serial number only so that they are correct but doesn't check if they fit together.
This is either plain fraud or misspelling. But if that's many notes I don't believe in misspelling.
The third option is, of course, that these notes are real. Why would we need different printercodes and serialnumbers if printer and serial always matched?

I don't really care if the printer code is correct or not, the serial number is much more important to me...

Until we've figured out all the information that is coded into the serial number I don't want to add this kind of check. Here is why : it's a lot easier to spot fraudsters !! When everything is in place, we'll cleanup the database and implement the tests and they'll have a lot of trouble creating real entries
