I'm back in Spain, so I give back the Slovenian leadership to its actual owner: Kop€r...
First of all, let me say that you have a WONDERFUL country. It's hard to describe with words all the beauty you have in such a small territory. From Bohinj Lake, to Postojna caves... Predjama Castle... All the Alps... Bled, Skofja Loka, Koper or Piran, Ljubljana, Kamnik... WOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW I'm still shocked for all that I've seen. It was so nice for us that my girlfriend and me decided to cancel our reservations in Austria and spend two days more knowing Slovenia (Austria also deserves much more than two days)... And we were lucky because otherwise we wouldn't have known Koper and Piran, just terrific places... It has been one of the best holidays of my life, we had sun (what a nice sun these last days!!!) and snow, mountains and sea... As I said, I'm still shocked. My girlfriend has our photos, but as soon as I get them, I'll post some here so anyone from outside of Slovenia can see the beauty of your country... (just something negative: you Slovenian people drive TOO BAD!!! You do it very aggresively and extremely fast! I thought that I'd seen all after driving through Italy but you're even worse!
)
And back to EBT, I've had no luck, no hits...
So now it's up to you to find any of the notes I left around there. It's a pity I can't see a half of Slovenia in my map anymore, as it's buried under a mass of blue dots

I perfectly remember that I changed that note in the tourist info of Kamnik for two fivers and one of ten. There was undergoing a class of Italian just in that moment there...
I'm sooooo happy now!!! Now I can say that my holidays were really perfect. There are many more "Spanish" notes running around Slovenia, so come on, make me happier...

I left some notes in a restaurant of Skofja Loka whose name I won't say or it could be considered cheatingetty wrote:ok i'll try to find some in škofja loka![]()
btw. it was really nice to read your report.. things like this make me even more proud to be slovenian
And what I said about your country is true. I post a photo that my girlfriend sent me by mail. I have compressed it a lot, so the quality is bad... But the place is soooo beautiful... Bled: lake, island and castle. As soon as I have more photos I'll post some.

Yes, the island on Bled lake ... I have been on the island once on foot, when the lake was frozen. In fact I was on the island twice, because having almost returned on the mainland I noticed that I forgot my small rucksack on the island, and here we go again ...
Anyway, it's nice to hear that you enjoyed your trip and that you are safely back. And of course we really are crazy drivers and our roads are more or less a disaster
You probably didn't have the time or opportunity to taste the famous Bled cream-cake on Bled? Or perhaps even burek?

It's strange that you said twice (before leaving and already here) that you wished me a safe trip... Is Slovenia dangerous (apart from the kamikazes in the roads)? We had no feeling of danger at any time... Well, we had it once we just got lost in a mountain road with a meter of snow at each side of the way, but nothing to see with people, who were serious but helpful!nickx wrote: ...it's nice to hear that you enjoyed your trip and that you are safely back...

We couldn't find burek until we were in Koper and we already had have lunch, so I can't compare the Slovenian with the Croatian one I tasted some time ago. I'll have to go back there to eat some
But what we ate, and a lot, was kremna rezina, we bought it in a Pekarna in Bohinjska Bistrica. Just DELICIOUS!
Bear is very right, because we don't see any kamikazes like drivers in our region. I am sure, that pepitopulpito saw italian wild drivers.mr.bear wrote:nickx wrote: And of course we really are crazy drivers and our roads are more or less a disaster![]()
We???I belive you can talk only about yourself and your family. Don't express your bullshit opinion on all slovenian drivers.

Yes, we, see UNIS report, or try to obey speed limits some day for a change, then see what happens on the road. Funny how everyone thinks he's better driver than the rest. BTW, please try to be polite (for a bear, at least).mr.bear wrote:We???I belive you can talk only about yourself and your family. Don't express your bullshit opinion on all slovenian drivers.

WOW! I didn't want to create such a bad feeling here...
First of all: I think your roads are not very good but it's true I wouldn't say they're a disaster. The motorways are really good, and secondary roads are at least as good as the Spanish ones (which is not a good thing, believe me). They were completely free of snow and that's quite nice.
Second: Or I saw many many Italian guys who had rented Slovenian cars or the people who drove 2 cms from by back and overtook me with a continuous line on the floor were Slovenian. Maybe those tracks at 120 kph were also Italian...
Third: If I had to answer: How do you feel while driving in Slovenia? I'd say: not sure
Fourth: I have driven around lots of countries, and from now on Slovenia is at the level of Italy in my ranking and that means very low. But you're still better than Croatians or people from Galicia (Northwest of Spain)
That's my bullshit opinion.

Mr. bear, I had also writen that in general foreign languages are not a problem for Slovenian people (for us!). You didn't protest about this bullshit, did you?
Anyway, someone who comes from outside, can compare and judge better than we who are used to the situation. The same conclusions as pepitopulpito (huh, a long nick
) made about our traffic are heard from many visitors of our country.
I wrote our roads are a disaster - what I mean is that you can hardly drive 50 km in Slovenia without being stopped or slowered down because of toll stations, road works ... highways are being built in randomly scattered sections
I often drive to Munich, which is 400 km away. I need more than 1 hour for 70 km to reach the border, than it goes smoothly and without stopping all the way to Munich (well, almost smoothly, roads are constantly being repaired abroad, also).
